DDD and Gmail
 

I ordered the Herzog/Kinski set from Deepdiscountdvd.com a couple of days ago. I woke up this morning, expecting to see an 'item shipped' email, and instead I see that the order was cancelled because the item was discontinued. Since it's kind of a big set, I thought I'd have heard about it, and the set was still available on their site, so I called up. I asked why it was cancelled, and the CSR told me that because my email address is from Gmail, the order was automatically cancelled, simply because a lot of fraud comes from Gmail. The guy was nice enough to re-place my order and attatch a note to my account, saying that it's okay for me to order, because I've had a long history with DDD.

I just think it's strange that they'd just cancel all orders just because they share the same (very popular) email provider. Anybody else had this problem? The guy at DDD said this was his second call today about this issue.

If that were true you would think DDD would also cancel orders using Yahoo and Hotmail email accounts.

That's odd. I use Gmail email with them (and many other online stores) and have never had that problem.

I have used a GMail account with them for several months with no problem at all. In fact, I just placed an order last week; it is on its way to me now.
