Does this sound right? (Amazon related)

I ordered an item from amazon.com today and the after doing some research the item they have pictured isn't complete. (they show a wireless adapeter and even say that it has the ability.) So I tried to cancel the order, and for the first time in the history of Amazon they shipped the item within an hour of me placing the order. So I called and asked what I can do to get a refund, and the guy on the phone said to refuse shipment and we will get a full refund. Does that sound right? Plus, it was shipped usps how do you refuse a mail package? I am usually not home when the mailman gets here so should I leave them a note?

Thanks in advance,

I'm pretty sure if it's unopened you can take it to the post office and say you want to return it to sender.

If you have a tracking number, you can try calling your local PO and have them intercept and return it for you. I had to do that recently with a shipment from buy.com. If that fails, doing as Quatermass suggests should also work.

As long as you don't open the package you can take it to the Post Office and have them send it back. Otherwise it would require you to get a return label from Amazon.
