Borrowed Hitch from BlockBuster, cannot be played!
I tried on both of my dvd players and it just stuck on the Menu. My Apex player passes the Menu part, but it stucks when playing the movie. I'm talking about the actual Hitch dvd release (unless BlockBuster has "special" rental copies). I'm not sure it's already discussed...

Take it back and get another copy.
|
Just take it back. DUH!
|
How the hell does someone "borrow" something from blockbuster?
|
okay, a friend of mines rented... but the thing is, the disc is new, there are no scratches that i know of.
|
My point is... If the disc is new and no visible scratches, how the heck you know it's defected w/o playing it? I mean i can understand if you buy a device and it doesn't work. But a dvd? It's hard to believe that out of millions of copy and you just happen to bump into a bad one? It's not like you going to watch every dvd you brought right away. By the times you do decided to sit down and watch and find out the disc won't play, it's very frustrating. Not to mention, you can't find the store reciept... I know the chances are low, but still, if you have a large collection and you caught one apple, it makes you wonder if there are more... I don't think there's a device that tells you the dvd is playable or not (or all parts of the disc play or not, if not, which part is not payable etc...)

 It happens.

Yeah, i wonder why the mega million winning numbers are not happening to me...

That is your lesson!! You DO NOT BORROW FROM BLOCKBUSTER!!
You pay, rent, and then get charged late fees, that's how it works. Capiche? Pro-B |

I thought the same thing when apex was mentioned |
I must be thick, but I don't get the problem.
Unless by "borrow" you actually mean "stole", then just take it back and get another copy. |
And if you do mean "stole", then do as odisn says, except skip the "take it back" part. ;)
Perhaps this is just BBV's new protection scheme that only allows the actual renter to play rented DVDs. :whofart: |
Take your keys and rub the DVD for a few minutes. Get it scratched up good and well and then try to play it. If that does not work put it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds. No more then 30!!!!!! It should play fine now.

In defense of Apex, the second player I bought is an Apex. It has been running hard, strong, region free, and copy-protection free since 1999. The only problem I have is that the kids ate some of the keys off of the remote!
