Preordering DVDs

I have a quick question. I preordered the Batman Anthology Set, and the Delux Begins DVD with the free shipping. The deals on these was just go good to pass up on them, because i knew that if i was preordeing them next month, i'd end up paying more. Does Amazon charge your credit card when the preordered items ship, or do they charge it now?

It's been awhile, but I believe it's when they ship. That's pretty much the standard.

When they ship.

Visa/MC rules require that retailers can only charge for an item when they are ready to ship it. So, except for the few that ignore the rules (for which they could be penalized), you shouldn't be charged on things that are preorders.

Amazon always charges when your order ships.

Overstock always charges when the order is placed.
