Best Buy Reward Zone certs expiration?

My membership is set to expire on July 31st and I'm going on vacation and won't be back until Aug 11th. I have received $15 in certs which are set to expire sometime in October. Will they be void when my membership expires or the date on the certs? I plan on renewing my membership, but would like to take advantage of some promotional offer. I missed out on the free renewal coupon a few months back. Please post if you can help. Thanks in advance.

I know if you let your membership lapse any points you have in your account will void out, but I'm not sure about the Certs. Assuming we're talking about BestBuy and their "normal logic," they probably void the certs too but don't quote me on that.

I seriously doubt if they will be void when the membership expires. You earned them by spending the money, there is no way they shouldn't be honored, regardless if your account is expired or not.

I read some ad (either on the RZ website or in the insert that came with the certs) that encourages you to give your RZ certs away to friends and relatives. I guess it means you don't have to be an active RZ member in order to use those certs.

RZ certs are exactly like any other gift cert. Your membership in RZ is irrelevent to the actual certificate.

Certificates will last until their expiration date but any points you have in your account will be nullified when your membership expires.

Do they send you a letter saying when your membership is up, or do you have to sorta remember when you started? Cause there's no way I remember when I got mine.

Go to myrewardzone.com and check your account including expiration date. You will need the password that they mailed you to login though.

Usually when I'm in there, and it's close to expiration (a month or two), they'll tell me at checkout ("Hey, your RZ card expires X/X, do you want to go ahead and renew?"). So, I guess there's a way to tell in the store too. Might want to just go to Customer Service one day, and they can probably tell you.

I totally overlooked my anniversary for renewing my Reward Zone membership. Received a notice in the mail from Best Buy in which they stated that membership renewal time had arrived and that they were giving me the next year membership free this time around.

Pretty nice of them.

I think I lost the password, but no worries-- I go there often enough (about once a week at least) that it shouldn't be a problem. I noticed the other day that I've accumulated like $80 in RZ certs since starting last year. Wow. I didn't realize I'd spent nearly that much.

You can also call the number on the back of the card, I think it's their normal Customer Service number and they should be able to help you out by either resetting or sending you your password in the mail.

I highly recommend using the website as I was cheated out of a boatload of points that never posted from bonus offers and such and by checking the online site it was the only way I would have known that I never got them because their statements you get in the mail are so far behind. Their customer service reps credited me after I emailed them from the site.
