So, I go Into Blockbuster and ....... (New Movie Pass Info)

So, I walk into my local Blockbuster to cancel my Movie Pass. The guy at the counter asks me why so I tell him that I can never rent enough movies to warrant the $24.99 price.

He then says, "Well, this doesn't officially start until March but I can go ahead and sign you up early for our '1 Movie Out At A Time' plan for only $10." He then stated that it would be $15 after the first month.

Once again, I told him that it simply wasn't worth the money.

He then looks at my account and says, "Actually, last month you rented well more than enough to cover the cost of the Movie Pass."

So I just looked at him and said, "Since you guys started the 'No Late Fee' policy there are never any new releases on your shelves and I'm forced to rent older movies that I'm not particularly interested in simply to justify the fee I've already paid you."

He finally stopped trying to sell me a replacement Movie Pass and quickly cancelled my current plan.

Anyone else had problems like this or heard of this '1-Out" plan?

I have yet to hear the one out at a time plan, but I agree that their no late fee policy, up to this point, has been a disaster. I don't go there enough to justify buying either pass, but I did check out a few titles last month and one of them wound up not getting checked in. When I did go back to the store, I discovered I was being charged 18.00 plus tax for a new release they said I didn't return. The odd thing about it was that they did find it on the shelf and they did say it did get checked into my account during an inventory of the store, but the amount was never taken off my account.

As usual, there are just too many bugs with their system and people are using this no late fee thing to make EVERYTHING a week long rental. I never rented much from them before, and I have even a less of a reson to go there now.

The only bugs in the system I hope to take advantage of in the future with them are their low prices they list for certain pre order items, but that is another thread for the bargain forum.

the one out thing is true.
the no late fees causing a lack of copies is also true and not a good thing.

If they do this, I'll jump in for one month (still have about $150 in store credit to use) and catch up on about 12-15 titles that have come out in the past few years that I'm interested in seeing, but not interested enough to invest in buying them or even paying full rental for them.
