Much less than the last one. About $80 in Christmas gifts.

Nothing for me... I feel so "selfless."

Or that an enterprising criminal could figure out my credit card number from the last 4 numbers (Since the bank number - the first 9 digits are the same for each bank).

Since it's been a couple of months since this breech went down, and neither of these two extreme examples of what could go wrong have come to pass, its unlikely that anything bad will happen now. But I still see no changes in policy, they never addressed my security concerns, they never responded to my e-mails, and with the recent problems (double billing on some peoples orders), I don't see how they've changed at all.

DDD is still a half assed operation as far as I'm concerned. I don’t trust them, and I wont use them no matter how many "20% off sales" they throw at me, until I see improvement.
Wow. Just wow.

Well, hey - if its no big deal, then why dont you go ahead and post your name and address, the last 4 of your credit card and the last, oh say - dozen DVDs you ordered? I mean if mine isnt a ligitimate beef with a company that does that, then you should be able post your personal information freely. So go right ahead. . . .

. . . .

I thought so.

El-Kabong, it was one in probably up in the "millions" range that your name can get selected by someone else.

Who's to know who/when/where someone got into your account.

What you are asking is completely different from that.

Wow. Just wow. on your part.

---
And about the dvds I ordered? I don't give a shit really. What is it? Did you order porn or something and are just scared that someone from China could find out?

Different? No it's not. My personal information was on display for a whole weekend. So if it's no big deal for me, then why is it SUCH a big deal for you?

And frankly I don't see why you're defending them. They fucked, and they fucked up BAD, and have yet to give me any reason to trust them. Or are you saying it's ok for them to put their customer's private information on display for all to see?

I have yet to see any improvement with their company. They test coupons and security protocols on the live *ALL* the time. (That's how the 20% coupon got out a week ahead of schedule last time). They don't have an ounce of responsibility (They should have pulled the servers down Saturday the second they became aware of the problem instead of leaving them up all damn weekend until Monday), and they have never stated what steps they have taken to prevent this from ever happening again.

But fine - whatever. If you don't mind DDD, then go ahead and spend money there. But stop being a complete jackass and giving me shit for not wanting to when I have perfectly valid reasons.

You are blowing it WAY out of proportion.

DDD did not purposely put your information on display. If they did, they would not be in business right now.

And for the statement about putting my information on display on this site and having your information being displayed out of millions of people on DDD, IS. NOT. THE. SAME. THING.

Chances are your information was never viewed. It's like the lottery.

If nothing has happened to you yet (received a gazillion dvds, have someone from China knock on your door, etc.) then you really have no problems.

I just want you to understand the differences. You obviously don't.

No, they didn't do it on purpose - but they didn't take steps to correct the problem once they knew about it for a THREE WHOLE DAYS. If they had a shred of responsibility, someone would have gone over to the wall and pulled the plug on the server the first thing when they got in on Saturday morning. No - they left the site up and hemorrhaging information until sometime in the middle of Monday.

And I've got a 1 in 6 chance that the chamber wont have a bullet in it, but I'm sure as fuck not playing Russian roulette either.

If nothing has happened to you yet (received a gazillion dvds, have someone from China knock on your door, etc.) then you really have no problems.

And if you'd open your eyes and read my earlier post, you'd see that I said that what I was citing was indeed an extreme example and if nothing bad has happened by now, then it's unlikely to happen. Still why should I take the chance and expose myself again when this incompetent company has not shown notable signs of improvement?

Fool me once, etc, etc. . . .

I just put him on my ignore list, so there should be no more problems.

No need to chill out here - I'm perfectly fine. Talk to the dude keeps giving me grief when I've got a pretty long list of valid complaints.

But whatever. I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks of my spending habits. DDD aint seeing a dime from until I see a notable improvement - and double billing folks (like Handle and Jough) is not a step in the right direction.

Evidently DDD didn't want to cancel my orders after all, and billed me twice for every cancelled item (without actually shipping anything).

Now this is costing me way way more money, time, and aggrevation than I ever could have possibly saved by ordering from them.

I'd swear someone at DDD was messing with me.

Jough, I'm so sorry you continue to have these massive issues with DDD! Honestly, I think it's time Mr. Mejorado respond . . .

Please read my response to Miss Flores Jough. Believe me, you're not the only person who has had problems honey. Good luck.

The new current total (assuming lowest value possible, 0 for the first category and 1000.01 for the last) is $43451.64 spent by DVDtalkers. Crazy.
