I need a store that sells DVD’s in envelopes??
Hi,
I need an online store that can sell me DVD’s without their cases. I need them to take the discs out of their cases, put them in an envelope with their art works and send them to me. Can anyone help me find a store like this? Thanks:) |
I know this seems like a stupid question, but...
Why? |
I was waiting for someone else to ask that!
|
Why?
It is a short question with a very long answer. I live in Saudi Arabia, and here, if you order any DVD’s or books online, they must be censured before you get them, and in most cases they confiscate any movie with nudity (even if it is Steve Buscemi’s butt), so far they took from me more than 15 out of 90 movies I ordered, and the worst part is that they don’t even return them back to the store, they just destroy them and it’s impossible to get your money back, So on order to get the movies you want without some stupid religious rules telling what is suitable for you to watch and what is not, you may have to find a store that can put the discs in an envelope, so that they will look like a pile of papers and they will get through without a risk. So please if you know any store that can provide such service please tell me! P.S: I have a US mail address. So it’s alright if the store ships only to the US. |
Err...if you are having them shipped to a U.S. address, then what's all this about Saudi Arabia customs?

I'd say any corporate stores would be out, which includes most online stores. Your best chance, I would think, would be to find some mom and pop video store and ask them to do it for you. I don't know of any myself, but if you have any U.S. friends, ask them to check around in their towns.

I would say try to talk to a couple of ebay sellers that might help.
I bought a bunch of CD's for someone in Australia, and took away the jewel cases and re-sent them, not for customs reasons, but because it was cheaper to mail that way, and they told me it was ok, they had extra cases there. JP |
You might want to try emailing Mark Harrill at digitaleyes.net ([email protected]). I'm not sure if he's the owner or manager of the company, but he posts here all the time and is very helpful, so maybe he could work something out for you.

Some online store used to offer this "service", but I can't remember which one at the moment. It may have been a Canadian retailer. I'll keep it in mind and see if it comes to me.
|
but what about all that sweet, sweet Saudi Arabian porn I keep hearing about??

Well guys, thanks a lot anyway.
I still hope I can find a store that does this kind of thing; I can't go on losing my DVD's for a bunch of jerks in the Saudi customs who still think that destroying a Stanley Kubrick film will save society from destruction. |

I know a friend who knows a friend who knows a friend...
I'm gonna give it a try as soon as I get in touch with him. |
I only know of one site that does this, but they are an adult DVD retailer in Europe, so that may or may not help you. ;)
(and I'm not saying why I know this fact :D ) |
I take back anything bad I've ever said about the United States.

Originally posted by SQS they confiscate any movie with nudity (even if it is Steve Buscemi’s butt), Seriously, are you an American in Saudi Arabia or a Saudi? If you are an American, why is your mail being sorted by Saudis? Doesn't mail for American's get handled by Americans (APO)? |
This may or may not be helpful.
This store in Australia DeVoteD DVD will open DVD cases and insert the DVD in a paper sleeve. They then put the sleeve back into the case before shipping. Obviously, since they remove the shrink wrap and use a paper sleeve, they could ship to you without the case. You would also need a region free DVD player that will play PAL DVDs. Might be worth an email to see if they will ship without the case. |
Resinrats, you shouldn’t make fun about Steve Buscemi's butt like that, after all, if there ever exist a butt that we here are allowed to see, it might be his.:):)
By the way, I’m a Saudi. Jaspear, thank you for the store, I just sent them an email, I hope it’ll work.:) |
Why don't you just buy buy the sleeves and throw away the cases after u open them. I know where to buy just the sleeves
