It's not his fault.

We only recently worked out that it was happening to logged-in or recently logged-in accounts.

I only just made that adjustment to the original post.

But if Rich can add the new disclaimer to his posts, it would save a lot of headaches.

I haven't logged in for about 2 months, since the 20% off sales. So I guess I'm OK?

Thanks for the info, I was about to log in to remove my CC. But that would be a bad idea right now.

I wouldn't consider anyone safe. A lot of this accounts haven't had orders on them for a long time.

I'd just like to state that I don't want DDD to be damaged by this. I will, more than likely, continue to use them for larger orders that I don't mind a wait on.

If this error forces them to look at and repair a severe glitch, then it can only benefit future customers.

I still use DVDPacific -- even though my CC was one of the fraudulently charged cards. Their service and security is now top of the line.

So let's not crucify them just yet. At least entire CC details weren't on show to the public.

They won't be damaged unless orders actually ship.

They're going to need to place a hold on every order placed within this time period and check every single one, or (even better) make people reorder.

Now we only have to make sure they are aware of the problem.

Hopefully someone from DDD will post here with more info.

They are now saying it will be fixed in 20 minutes and don't worry about any orders they will email and confirm them all before they go through. Basically the run around cause if someone changed your email address you would never get the confirmation.

I logged in to change my info and siwtched to bill me now, but now I can't logout.

This is terrible. This has happened before as well? I never ordered too many discs from them, but this will keep me away for good.

Changed all of my account info and I am logged out....no orders other than ones I have placed which have already been received so this may be it as far as my shopping goes at DDD.

The site now comes up with some kind of "Service Upgrade in Progress. Please try again later" message. It looks like they're working on the problem.

I think maybe they've taken down the system. I tried to log-in before reading the complete thread and got:
Error Occurred While Processing Request

Wow, does anybody have a clue on how this could happen? I am wanting to login and change my cc info, but will hold off. As soon as a hear an all clear, I will login and get my cc info. I will contact that cc and have them red flag any purchases. DDD had better come up with 20% off sale soon or they will lose my business forever! Thankfully I have not login to DDD for about a week. I hope that means I am safe.

I'm getting it too, but nonetheless, when the site comes back up, i'm deleting ALL personal information. This has freaked me out!

I'm sorry to say it, because I've gotten good deals from them in the past, but when they get this fixed I'll probably be deleting my account from there.

Yeah, last time I logged on was 4 or 5 days ago so I think I should be okay.

Why only a 20% sale...after something like this they should offer a 30% sale.

Ouch! I hope my info wasn't leaked out. Good thing I didn't place that order yesterday like I was going to.

The site's down now, i get this:

Dear DeepDiscountDVD.com and DeepDiscountCD.com customers,

The sites are currently unavailable for a system upgrade to service you better. The sites will be back up in a few minutes.

We do apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

DeepDiscountDVD.com and DeepDiscountCD.com

I guess I should have gone to this thread before I placed an order about a .5 an hour ago. My account came up fine, no orders were showing on my order status that weren't my own.

I will keep my account. DDD has always been great and I will not let this keep me from ordering from them again. They are the best DVD site on the net, price and customer service wise for me. If it happens again though, I will probably have a different view.

Regardless of any fix, I've certainly lost confidence in their ability to keep my data secure. I always thought their site was lacking asthetically. Now may be a good time for a major overhaul.

I'll keep my account too, but from now on, I'll make sure I'm logged out before leaving their site. (Although I just checked, and I'm not logged in right now. Whew!) It's always annoyed me how sites like Amazon constantly make you enter your password, even when you're already logged in, but now I see that's not such a bad thing.
