Buy.com Any Good?

I did a search and didn't find much on Buy.com.

I'm curious about ordering something from them that they have listed $90 cheaper than other stores. Because of that much of a savings, I'm concerned about quality. Is their stuff "the real thing"?. Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, that could help me decide? Thanks!

I have ordered from them for several years, no problems, no worries. Although I heard others say they have had problems, mainly with customer service.

Buy.com has to be one of the top 5 etailers on the web, IMHO. Always have been very reliable. Also one of the quickest shippers I've experienced.

No problems when I used them in the past (about two years ago) for about 4 orders.

I haven't used them within the past year, but several previous transactions all went off without any problems. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

here too... I've been using them for years and never had any major problems. Once I ordered some jewel cases for CDs and they came in cracked. They walked me through printing a return label and I had a replacement set in a few days!

they're fairly good..lately they've had a couple of price mistakes and people tend to think e-tailers are required to send merchandise at the incorrect prices and get all pissed off and bad mouth them, but I've used them for quite a number of times for various stuff and I've had no problems with them..

most recently I purchased a replaytv and after being on the telephone with replaytv support for about two hours we determined it was defective..buy.com automatically let me print out a UPS ground pre-paid label and send it back and I had my replacement sent the same day they received the defective item ..

i've bought from em twice since then (this week)..but that's just me

Thanks for all the feedback! I shall ignore my fears of the lower price and shoot off my order!

They are great. But they only have coupons for new customers.

They used to be good. It seems lately that they have this problem that orders are not shipped out right away. I ordered something a month ago and it took them a little over a week to ship it out. This is the same problem I have been hearing a lot of people say about them. I know I will not use them again.

I think it may depend on what it is you really order..I can't say everything ships quick as hell, but I placed an order for a USB drive thingy, and 6 dvds (two seperate orders) and both went out within 48 hours...maybe you ordered weird stuff

I ordered a DVD burner from Buy.com last month and also found their shipping slow. It took them 5 days to ship it out after placing my order. That was the first time I had ordered anything from them in about 2 years but I never remember them being very fast at shipping before. Other then that I have no complaints with their service, and would consider purchasing from them again in the future.

I ordered a compact flash card. The thing obout it is that it said that they had it in stock. Then why take so long?

Great.

I ordered two items yesterday, 1st day delivery - both in stock. They haven't shipped yet. Customer service is unresponsive. I ordered from them in 2000 and remember them being great. Seems like they've gone downhill.

Six monts rating is 1.74!

Number one complaint is that they list item in stock and then never ship to way later.

Wow, I can't believe how awful their customer service has gotten. Outsourced in India, and they are absolutely no help. Be wary, when the site says the item is in stock, that's not always the case. In my case, overnight delivery actually means 4 days. Never again.

They used to have great coupons and excellent deals. I have not bought from them in a few years since they started charging sales tax, but for a 2 year period they were my go to e-tailer for DVD's. I refuse to pay for shipping AND sales tax. I had no problem with their customer service.

I don't buy too much from them, but when I do the stuff shows up fairly quick.

They've stolen $1000 from me. I bought some items a few weeks ago and then did an RMA and returned it. It's been two weeks now since the package arrived at their return address and I haven't heard a peep from them. My emails to them have gone unanswered.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now...trying to file a CC dispute if that will even do anything, file complaints, etc.

I recently found a phone number, but supposedly even that is poor.

What has been peoples' experience been with them lately?

I ordered a Creative 20GB Zen Touch mp3 player from the yesterday with a $10 off coupon, max. $15, then the max. changed this morning to $30! So I called, got the Indian woman, who said she could not make any price adjustment. I said, "So, instead of making a slight price adjustment you'd rather have me cancel my order & spend my $250 elsewhere?" And she replied she was very sorry that they could not honor the new coupon.

So I cancelled right away, but we'll see if it, in fact, cancels or gets shipped out for me to return.

I'll likely still order it from them anyway, since it seems to be the best available price, but I'd appreciate any thoughts people have who've ordered from them in the past 3-4 months.

Thanks.

They used to be one of my favorite places to shop. Now they're pretty terrible. It took me over two weeks to get my last order, and when it showed up, the packaging was smashed and the return label said it came from their returns department.
