Good for you, I wished I had moved faster on that unofficial 20% off sale!

I was able to do this too. I wish I had thought to do the hitchcock set though as well.

If I remember correctly, the Hitchcock set went up on the site a few days after the sale was over. I looked for it at the time, but it wasn't available.

One persons bargain doesn't need to be a thread in the bargain forum.

Why would you think they wouldn't ship it? They have shipped everyone elses preorders, Star Wars wouldn't be an exception.

This thread is useless and deceiving. DDD is NOT shipping it at 20% UNLESS YOU HAD A COUPON A WHILE BACK.

Moderator, please change the thread title.

mine got cancelled it seems. i think because my old cc is no longer valid and i guess they don't use the current one stored in the account info section?

i think i'll just stl it through amazon since it's only 4 dollars more. too bad amazon keeps dropping stl.

i have been having serious amounts of probs with all sorts of online retailers lately. it really sucks. stolen cc numbers, dropped discounts, cancelled orders, overcharges, etc.

Why is this thread here?
All it is is bragging about a discount that no one can get.
It's a waste of time for this thread to be open.

.
You are correct. If a credit card is cancelled for what ever reason
DDD will cancel the order even if you add a working credit card to your profile. They will not apply your new credit card to an existing order. If you call them they will tell you to reorder the item(s) . Whether they would honor a previous discount I guess is up to cs rep. This is what happened to me when I cancelled a credit card which was used for preorders at DDD. I could change the credit card at Amazon but not at DDD. Overstock charges your card at time of transaction rather then when shipped so no problem with Overstock except of course who wants to be charged upfront for a preorder,

FYI, mine shipped also with the 20% discount.

Rubix - I originally had the same problem as you (had to change credit cards on the order), so I called up DDD and had them change it.

Then I called up a few days later to confirm the change (just to make sure) and I found out it was never changed - so the CSR cancelled the original order, and created a new one with the same ($33.50) discount. I even got an e-mail with the order number.

Niiyama - the same could be said about the Circuit City 9/7 thread. Like the DDD accidental pre-sale, people took advantage of it at the time. Now the deal is longer available - but people are still posting that they have/have not received their items yet. On the other hand, at the CC thread, it is continually going on - whereas here, a new one was created just to say that SW has shipped. I try to look at things from both sides.

This may be stating the obvious, but whenever an online retailer has a deal *that* good (or a mistake!), there's always a level of doubt that it will actually happen. So when it does, people post about it! And the people who didn't take advantage (or saw it too late) get annoyed. I'm not pointing at anyone directly because it happens to everyone.

Okay I'm done!

I'll get one of these too, but I agree that this thread isn't a DVD bargain - if anything it belongs in Store Forum.

So they adjust the price right before they ship it to $33.50 after you purchase it at their regular price? Thanks! Placing my order now!

Did anyone else order La Dolce VIta during the accidental sale? I've got a temporary charge on my credit card that doesnt reflect any discount from the price on their site.

I had this happen, and they honored my 20% off. But of course, YMMV.

I preordered when they had the last 20%off deal so I always knew I was getting it for $33.50.

Glad to see they shipped because there shipping always takes almost 2 weeks to get to me in California.

My copy shipped today, at $33.50. I should get it on Friday based on previous experience with DDD (living in Ohio).
