I was gonna get in on the 3 for 2 B&N deal, but I'm gald I waited.

I'd rather pay $80 and get the 4 Criterions I want, instead of $72 for 3

Damnit, convinved a new code wouldn't appear anytime soon, I placed an order with them last night and as there's no way to cancel an order of instock items I'm essentially stuck. Oh well, starting tomorrow at least I can knock off some additional titles from my wishlist.

What they need to add, other than only giving 5 results per page when searching, is the ability to move stuff from the shopping cart to the Wish List. It was a drag after getting blanked on the leaked code night to have to researcha nd replace all those items onto the wish list when they were right in the cart already.

Regarding the last post by:

David Barker
VP Ecommerce Marketing
DeepDiscountDVD.com

page 3 in the 20% aftermath thread:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=368965

I spoke to a DDD customer service rep. regarding why I would not receive the last discount and pointed her to the DDD response in that thread. She stated that response was NOT from DDD and if they made any posts like that, they would be on their web page and not on a message board. She may have just been lying to me, but she seemed intent on suggesting that post I showed her was not legit.

I hope this sale is real and DDD customer service gets thier information straight.

I really hope their website is capable of handling all the traffic and orders. Last week I couldn't even get to the homepage. And during the first 20% sale, they sent me the wrong movie and I only had 2 movies on that order. Think positive!!

so why can't you just leave them in the cart 'till tomorrow then just place the order then?

So if they were just going to have another 20% off sale a week later, why is it that they refused to honor the discount on some people's orders from the last sale? That seems pretty bizarre.

Maybe because the other codes worked with pre-orders.

Will this work on their criterions? For example, the retail price is $39.96 they already discount it down to $28, will they take an additional 20% off the $28?

Arg! I really wanted to pick up the Star Wars trilogy but it's a non-discounted pre-order item.

Well there's other stuff I'll be ordering.

My credit card will soon be glowing red like those doors in Forbidden Planet.

Bob

(Thanks for the notice OP!)

In that case, shouldn't she have taken it a little more seriously that someone claiming he is the VP is going around giving false information?

Another government conspiracy. THEY must have leaked the other code in order to anger everyone into shopping at B&M stores and therefore pay taxes. Diabolically genious!

Just called DDD and they confirmed that the code is real. What sucks is that I just ordered something earlier today. The bummer is that it's a one-time-use coupon, so I have to call back tomorrow if I want it used on the order I made earlier today. They couldn't cancel it and let me re-order because they said the order was already sent to the warehouse to be shipped. Damn. Oh well, I didn't need to spend too much money.

I'm not suggesting a conspiracy or anything, it's just that a post like this one sort of makes one wonder just what is going on.

The DDD customer service reps are pure dolts 99.9% of the time (at least from what I've experianced), don't worry about it.

I hope no one thinks that I am lying. This was my experience with the last 20% off code:
1) I received the first email from DDD with the discount shown
2) I received the second email with the order #, but the discount was not shown
3) I called DDD and they said that the 20% off coupon was not valid and they would not honor it unless it was in writing
4) I directed them to that post (page 3) and the representative stated that post was not from DDD
5) I could not get the discount, so I cancelled my order (2 in stock items and 3 pre-orders).

I don't think the rep was "lying", but I highly doubt she would ever bother to be properly informed on a situation even after someone points out that "illegitimate posts" are being made by the VP.
