Extremely bad experience ordering from Amazon.fr

While I do love Amazon.com and Amazon.ca for their customer service, I do hate Amazon.fr based only on a single transaction.

Here is the story: I placed an order for several DVDs and used the promotional coupon for new customers the most part of which somehow applied to the cheapest DVD (discount didn't work as it usually does with Amazon.com, each DVD was just discounted for some amount). In several days part of my order was shipped but this single DVD mentioned above. I had been waiting patiently for it for 2 months and exactly at the day it was supposed to be shipped they cancelled the DVD from my order and emailed me that the title was not available any more. Although it still shows as available (ships in 3-4 days) on their site (even the price lowered a little, after it had been raised though) I thought "fine" and decided to ask for a substitute (another DVD that is ~EUR2 cheaper than the one they cancelled) to save on shipping (as they did charge me the shipping for the entire order plus for each DVD).
When they emailed me that it was "technically impossible" and I politely suggested creating a separate order (actually the way it was as they did separate the DVD from the other 3 I ordered), yes I did want to save the discount, to my astonishment their reply was: they wouldn't mind if I go shop elsewhere. That is the worst customer service I've seen in my life!

In case someone here has any personal experience ordering a DVD from France I will very much appreciate your feedback. I did check the stickied thread about retailers dealing in non-R1 DVDs to find out where I can buy some french DVDs but unfortunately couldn't find anything useful (some info is out-of-date, the only site mentioned as reliable charges an arm and leg for a single DVD, about EUR50 shipped).

Thank you for the pointers. Didn't notice that thread.
To tell the truth I am pretty sure amazon.fr is fine as long as you agree to pay their prices in full and as long as there is no problems with your order. In my opinion what makes a retailer a good one is the customer service.
In this thread I wanted to hear about some reliable french retailers I can order DVDs from except amazon.fr.

My favorite is DVD Zone 2 which is actually in Belgium and sells French and Benelux DVDs. I've ordered from them a lot and I have never had a bad experience with them. Also, they have an English interface.

I have gotten a couple things from Cinestore without problems.

It looks like you already have your answer but anyone else wondering about non-US outlets may want to check out the the following thread from International DVD Talk: International listing of etailers, reviews, forums & resources for online shopping

They say 15-30 days to ship but they are very reliable when they give a time period like that and it will probably be sooner.
