What ever happened to . . . Orderbox?

Ah, remember the good ol' days of Orderbox? Um, wait - there were never any good ol' days. What the hell!

Some sample reviews.

For the record, I never even used them but decided to seek some feedback on various sites.

I have also been swindled by Orderbox. Last time I heard from them (Julie Miller, order specialist) was May 22 when they promised to send the already paid DVD bye airmail.... I hope that someone want to sue this company. I live in Sweden and canīt do much from here.

Clarky - (August 27, 2003)

They got my money in April. The emailed me to say "sorry for the delay, we'll send your DVD by express." Last time I ever heard from them, despite several emails being sent by me. I'm in New Zealand and can't do much from here, so if anyone is closer to Orderbox and feels like inflicting hurt on this outfit, be my guest.

Buyer beware!!! This is the worst E company ever! Not only did I receive the incorrect merchandise (after an extended wait), but after spending the time and money to send it back, I never received the refund. I called and e-mailed them over and over but never got any response from them at all. They sure were quick to take my money and deliver faulty merchandise, but totally unavailable to refund my account.

I ordered a DVD from orderbox through amazon.com on 5/11. On 5/28, I emailed them and left a message on their voicemail, and got no response as per the other people on this forum. I read this page, got upset, and got their phone number (thanks Wytche!). I called and reached someone who sounded very tired. They asked for my email address and assured me they would email me the status of my order. Yesterday, (5/29) I was sent an email saying it shipped yesterday with the tracking number.

So essentially, it took my having to call in order to get my order shipped. I am currently waiting patiently for it. I strongly suggest you don't use this seller.

Orderbox.com is simply a fly by night operation. I have called information in the Los Angelas area (where orderbox/OrderMarket is located) and there are no known phone lines to them.

My order has not been processed, nor have I been able to contact anyone at orderbox.com in order to find out about my order. If I email the company, all I recieve is a automated reply.

I am trying to organize a class action lawsuit against their company. If you are interested in helping organize with me, contact me at [email protected] .

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST

This is undoubtably the single worst e-tailer that I've ever dealt with. Let me revise that, I've never had a worse buying experience on or offline.

They had no problem processing my payment, but its been over a month and my DVD hasn't arrived and they don't answer their phone or respond to e-mail.

I am fortunate in that I ordered through their amazon.com store so I'm in the process of getting a refund through Amazon. If you found them through Amazon and want to get a refund, Amazon.com's customer service number is 800-201-7575. (Note: in order to make a claim, you need to wait 30 days and then you have a 30 day window in which to submit a claim.)

NEVER PURCHASE FROM ORDERBOX.COM!

They are, without a doubt, the worst online store in business. They are impossible to contact, making it impossible to cancel your order, or find out shipping information, or anything! You're really rolling the dice when you order with them... unfortunately I found out too late.

Their phone number is a joke - a Voice Message tells you to email them, and then they never respond to their emails.

I've already filed a complaint with the BBB. I suggest everyone else does as well.

Avoid at all costs!

DaVideoDude - (April 06, 2003)

Trouble!

$72 purchase of DVDs a month ago and I still haven't received all of them, but they did place ~200 additional unauthorized charges on my credit card totaling $5,500.

Contacting them is futile; everything is being mediated through the credit card company. I've had to cancel my credit card and fill out reams of paperwork, which is still being processed.

Avoid the headaches and make your online purchases elsewhere.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!

I have similar problems to the people above. They told me they were on backorder, so I cancelled them, and THEN they sent them anyway... then I returned them, and then the return won't be accepted at the address they told me to return to! And they are impossible to reach. I'm filing a law suit against them if I dont get this resolved soon.

I ordered a crapload of DVDs from them in the very early going. Saved around $100 total versus other etailers. Never got gyped. Stopped buying when all the complaints started rolling in. Guess I was lucky.

well i got in on orderbox, some fond memories. however it's been so long that if i bought them today i would of saved more. point being price drops and patience are your friends.

i also checked them out after people had tons of problems. except for one order being cancelled ages after i placed, things went smoothly. their prices weren;t great on the whole but i was able to find a few deals.

Yakuza Bengoshi 02-17-04 08:05 AM

I placed many orders at Orderbox back in the fall of 2001 when they offered their product for 25% less than whatever other vendors were charging, and offered 1 cent shipping. I was very satisfied with their service at the time, but I recall they had some screwy fees associated with being a member so I opened and closed a few accounts within the trial 30 day periods. They then changed their pricing, raised shipping to 88 cents, and people then reporting a lot of proplems with Orderbox. At that point I stopped using them and I never gave them much thought after that.

Same here. I even started buying from Orderbox the second time around when they changed their purchasing structure and were shipping DVDs at $0.01 via media mail. But that was way back in beginning of 2002, and I stopped going there when their prices stopped being competitive.
