BB.com considers the purchase complete when you hit submit on their page and they are holding the item for you. When you go to pick it up in their stores they are just verifying that you have picked up the item, the sale already completed when you were at home.

It sucks, but dvd-fanman is exactly right.
I would do a whole helluva lot of purchasing through BestBuy.com using affiliate links if they could rectify that situation somehow, like enabling you to enter the card scan numbers when you place the order.
