I have a question about returning a dvd player to best buy

I bought a toshiba sd3950 this past sunday from best buy thinking it could be hackable to play all region disks. However, it doesn't and I threw away the foam pieces that came with it. I still have the box all the paper work and the receipt. Now if I need an excuse for why I'm returning it I did notice that when I played a dvd the language audio looked off when someone would talk ( kind of like an old kung fu movie). Do you think they will give me a refund or allow me to swap it out?

The Best buy is about 65 miles from my home so this is the reason I thought I would ask here first. thanks

They might let you exchange it for the same item, but any refund would probably be deducted because you don't have all the original packing materials. I think they have a 15% restocking fee in those cases.

I returned a Toshiba 5-disc DVD changer a year ago with no problems for a full refund, but I had all the materials.

They can charge you a 15% restocking fee as noted in the post above.

If you charged it to a credit card, they can credit the amount back to your card.

If you paid via cash or check, it will take several weeks to get you money back (but I'm not sure if there is an over/under amount here).

If you choose to swap the item, you will only be allowed to exchange 4 the same item.

$100 and up for check, $250 and up for cash. Most stores will not care about the missing foam, as long as the product has the box and UPC.
