bestprices.com

I was thinking about ordering the nightmare on elm street box set from www.bestprices.com. I have never dealt with them before, but they currently have the best price on the nightmare set. Has anyone dealt with them before? are they legit? before i make a big purchase, i always like to get as much input as i can.

You could check the store forum.

One thing about BestPrices... make sure you know how much shipping is. They can really try to screw you there.

At BestPrices, isn't it about 66 bucks? Why not order it from DDD for $55, with no shipping charge?

Its not $55 at DDD anymore........

According to the checkout process, because of the weight, the shipping for the NoES collection would be about $7 (total: almost $74) from BestPrices. DDD's price is about $69 with free shipping. So if it is best price that you are looking for, DDD is still the way to go.

And as for DDD's reputation . . . I get 2/3 to 3/4 of my DVD's from them . . . never a single problem (if you don't mind waiting shipping times of 3-6 days).

Hope that helps . . . :)

Yes, they are legit - and been around for a few years. I've ordered from them a few times, and each order went through with no problems at all. (Their shipping charges make it difficult to justify only buying one or two titles at a time from them.)

They should be called worstservice.com instead. I made the mistake of ordering from them once, they not only screwed up the order (a couple wrong DVDs), but wouldn't refund shipping for the replacements.

Whenever I order online, it's usually from DDD. I've had nothing but good experiences from them.

Yeah. I used to order a lot through Best Prices but a few instances caused me to order from DeepDiscountDVD almost exclusively instead.

The last time I tried to order something from BP, their website displayed in-stock information incorrectly, so I didn't find out that something wasn't in-stock until I got the confirmation receipt. Besides this, they really seem to have distribution problems -- things tend to be out of stock quite a bit and stay out of stock for long periods of time.

I contacted them about cancelling my order, my issues with items being out of stock in general, and their website operating incorrectly. The owner replied and didn't seem terribly interested in retaining me as a customer or fixing the problems.

I'm not even mentioning my first item that I bought from them years ago. I ordered a DVD and it was out of stock. Figuring I could wait a couple weeks in order to get a decent deal, I waited. And waited. A month went by and I bought the disc at Best Buy, but left the order going out of morbid curiosity as to how long it would take to ship.

The answer: ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS.

That said, I have had flawless transactions with them, but I tend to judge a company by what happens when things go wrong, not when they go right.
