whats the return policy on DVD players at Bestbuy and Circuitcity?

I'm going to buy a DVD player at one of these places very soon. Will I be able to return it if I don't like it for one reason or the other?

Very simple answer is yes (for Circuit City). Just watch the Circuit City commercials where the guys decide to come up with the best excuse for the return. They take it back no matter the reason.

Don't know about Best Buy, but my experience with Circuit City has been excellent.

I bought a $800 TV from them a few months back. They delivered it, and after watching it for about a day, I wasn't happy with the screen geometry. I went in the next day, and they agreed to deliver a replacement, and they did, taking the first one back. But I discovered that the second one also had the same problem, and I decided it was a problem with the model, not just one defective set.

So the next day, I returned to the store and said I wanted a different brand/model altogether. They delivered a third set the next day, took back the second set, all without a word of argument, and never charged me an extra cent for all the trouble.

I'm not particularly a fan of Circuit City. I hate going there to shop for DVDs, for instance. But they'll get top priority the next time I need a big-ticket item.

I've had no probelm returning a DVD player I didn't like to BestBuy. As long as it's within 30 days, you have a receipt, and you have all the original packaging. Helps if you leave all those dumb stickers on too.

Forget returns at bestbuy. The long lines and the ever suspicious customer service clerk will make you feel like a thief up to no good. Have you considered Costco? They'll return it even 6 months later.

OT Question About Costco

This is OT, but I've always wondered what is Costco's official return policy for their warehouse locations? (Perhaps it is listed on their website for their stores and I've just never bothered to look, and I apologize if that's the case and someone points me to a link.)

I don't believe I've ever seen one stated in their store. If I buy a DVD, don't want it, haven't opened it, and still have the original sales slip, when is it too late to return it?
