My surprising BestBuy B&M experience

I had been on the fence regarding buying a Toshiba 50H82 from a number of sources. I had found exellent deals @ etronics.com and onecall.com. I had gone in to the B&M Bestbuy to see if they would pricematch them. They had some deal going where they would give me a free DVD player (cheapo Samsung) but they even were willing to work with me by giving me it's value toward a progressive scan on instead. Well, that was nice and all, but not really a deal maker. I decided to do further research and came across a promo code for the 57H82 @ onecall along with their already discountedd price. So now I changed my thinking. The best price I had going for the 50" was $1694 @ etronics, but now this 57" was going for only $1869.
So I took my prinouts to bestbuy and tried to see what they could do. I was put in contact with Jody (manager @ the Amherst NY store) and he not only matched it, but beat it by more than enough. Shipping it to my house on Tuesday. I am so happy with them, they just bought themselves a new customer.

I wish I had your "customers are always right" type of managers in my local BB.

Great news, great news. I tire of all the BB bashing that goes on here. Some managers know what they're doing.

It's here!!!!

Woohoo!!!
TV showed up this morning, right on time as scheduled. The guys even wiped their feet coming in with it. (no small feat when carrying a 230 lbs TV either) They were very courteous and hooked up my cable to it to test it for me. The sliced up the box it came in for me so I didn't have to figure out what to do with it and all. I am very impressed. Now to hook up all my other stuff and watch some DVDs!!!

Good to hear. I've had only good Best Buy experiences, too. I'm glad you got such a great deal.

The part about wiping their feet made me laugh. We had two Sears delivery men bringing in a refrigerator a few months ago and the first guy paused to wipe his feet on the mat and almost dropped the thing. A little mud on the floor is fine by me if it means they won't break their backs or drop whatever they're carrying.

I have an update to my TV buying ordeal. I found www.onecall.com is offering my TV now for 1670.71 w/free shipping. This disturbed me, so I called the manager that hooked me up and talked to him about it. He called me back after talking with his district manager who told him he was not supposed to pricematch with online dealers. He was not going to be able to pricematch it for me, but would "hook me up" as much as possible on future purchases. I need a new refrigerator so maybe he can help out with that.
