Does Best Buy take back un-opened DVDs

I recieved a bunch of dvds as a gift, all are unopened. I don't know where they are from and I don't want to ask the person who got me them. Will Best Buy take back dvds without a receipt? Also, do Best Buy dvds have some special marking that lets the CSR's know it was purchased there? Any ideas on other places I could get a Gift Certificate to by doing this? FYI, I am not looking for cash, just a GC. Thanks.

No, they don't.

You must have a receipt. Try WalMart or Target.

Although Tarantino is surely more up-to-date on the policy than I. I have had a little luck with exchanging DVD's with Best Buy on 2 separate occasions - one during the holidays and the other in the middle of the year. Both exchanges included 2 DVD's which I resulted in a Store Credit that I use for other DVD's.

However, it may have been a lucky break. YMMV

No, its too late. Best Buy will let you exchange dvds and other stuff without a receipt for store credit only from after christmas to the end of january aince its after christmas and part of the holiday return policy and crap. But now, its over so you can't do it. I know walmart does though.

Target won't accept returns with a receipt.

Hmmm, first they are Columbia House discs and now they are gifts:

Be careful, I might get the impression that you are trying to sneak around the 'DO NOT POST FRAUD' rule and ban your account!
