Looking for help re: USPS Express mail
I mailed something from PA to CA last Friday using USPS Express mail. The post office guy said it would be delivered the next day. In fact, it says as much on the receipt/form: 'Next Day' is checked.
It wasn't delivered until Monday. I've been under the assumption that the delivery time for Express Mail is guaranteed while Priority mail is not. Am I able to file a claim to get some or all of my money back? Is Saturday considered the next day for the USPS? (It isn't for UPS unless you pay extra, methinks.) I looked on their website but couldn't find any relevant information. Thanks. |
Just go to a PO (any PO, doesn't have to be the one you mailed it from), give them your slip and they'll punch it up on their computer to see if it was late. Then they'll give you a short form to fill out and give you your cash back right there.
Saturday and Sunday count as days for Express. Express is delivered 7 days a week, even on holidays (yes, even on Xmas day.) (edited to add) Look up the number at the website to see if it was "Attempted" on Saturday. If nobody was home to sign or it was to a closed business, then you won't get a refund because there's nothing the post office can do about that. |
Thanks. :)
