deep discount dvd price match (rant)

this sucks. i email DDD to price match with outpost for the 9.77 usual suspects SE.

what do they do? they wait til the price goes back up to 18.XX and say 'tough s**t'. when i emailed them it was 9.77.

this is not the first time theyve done this to me. has anyone ever got this to work with DDD?

i swear they just wait until the price goes back up so they can decline the price match.

I done 2 price match attempts and was successful both times.
Friends Season 2 for around $28
South Park Season 1 for $9.89

Just email them a few times & tell them it was on sale at the time you tried to PM. The 1st time was easy but it took 3 emails to get them to finally price match SP.
Anyway, good luck.

I only tried to price match once at DDD with no success. I usually just look for the cheapest price or best deal at a store to make a purchase instead of going through all that trouble for maybe a slightly better price. I don't know why you just didn't order it from Outpost before they increased the price. Sounds like they made a smart move on their part for waiting. They probably knew it wouldn't stay that cheap for long.

If it's that cheap somewhere else, my sage advice is to order it at that price from the other guy. FAR easier than dealing with DDD, from my experiences.

Most people try to get by shipping costs ,despite the fact that DDD matches the low price + shipping charges.

I just pricematched a box set at DeepDiscountCD and it worked out fine for me. After you e-mail the link to the pricematch to them, you will get a tracking number. Call them the next day and follow up with the tracking number. That pushed mine along very quickly. I received a price match confirmation e-mail the same day, and called them right away to order. You have to be slightly pushy and persistent to make sure it gets honored.
