amazon merged with borders???

is this true? i haven't heard a thing but my dad told me that amazon bought borders, or at least, they are running the website now. any truth to this? thanks!

Borders sold their website to Amazon awhile ago (between one and two years?). If you go in through Borders, it says "Borders Teamed With Amazon.com." Otherwise, the exact same website.

Edited to add:

Here's the story:

They basically lease the Borders name. That way Borders has a web presence without the overhead costs involved with actually running it themselves.

Borders couldn't run both a website and bricks and mortar location.

There is a seperate website www.bordersstores.com devoted to brick and mortar stores. It has a handy feature where you can check inventory at 5 stores in your area.
