I haven't had any problems returning purchases to Costco. When I lost my receipt, they let me exchange the item.

I've gotten money with no receipt when my mom sent me stuff that didn't fit. Everything goes on you account number, so I think they can keep track of fraud without having to be sticklers about receipts like other stores.
