anyone here still use Rent My DVD?

i've been having major problems with them. they haven't shipped me a movie since last month...and that one was lost in the mail, so basically it's been over 5 weeks since i've received one. they keep giving me the same responses to my e-mails...saying that they are working with their distributors. has anyone here been having the same problems? or have you all long since abandoned them?

Yep. Same story here. Unfortunately, I am stuck with them until February because I bought one of their 1 year rental gift certificates awhile back at their 35% off regular price rate (still a pretty decent deal at around $8.00 a month.)

Anyhow, I am definitely having the same problem. Last few months, they started taking about 2 extra days to "check-in" my movie. Then, they stopped shipping my replacement on the same day even though I had titles in stock. Now, I have a 77 title "wish list" and have been on hold for the last 3 weeks with no shipments.

I have written about twice a week, and every time I get the following alternating responses:

1) "we are working with our distributors"
2) "you need to add more titles to your wishlist"

I doubt I can get a refund for the gift certificate, but I definitely won't be renewing.

Atleast these guys haven't "lost" any of my titles - that was why I ended up leaving Netflix - they "lost" 8 titles that I returned to them - funny how the mail always got lost in their direction and not mine. Can anyone say mail insurance fraud?

About to be going back to the grocery store for DVDs.

so after 5 weeks they finally send me 1 disc and it's been cracked in the mail. i wonder if it's even worth fighting for a refund of my remaining pre-paid months.

what ever happened to the rent my dvd guy who used to have a thread here?

I had the same problem. I sent them emails about every other day. Finally I requested a refund, and I was actually surprised that they gave me one! I also had one of the 1 year certificates, they prorated it and refunded me the difference (it expired in January I think).

I'm back at Netflix now, and believe it or not, its all been good. I live about 60 miles from Houston, so I send a dvd they get it the next day and send me another!

.....yep, just waiting on the Chapter 7 announcement for these guys because they clearly have no intentions of maintaining an inventory after "working with their suppliers" for over a year.
