LOTR shipped Wednesday
 

I just received an email that Lord of the Rings DVD shipped from Best Buy yesterday. I can't wait!

Same Here. LOTR for under $7 (use coupon from BHD) and shipped yesterday but I think it'll arrived either next Wednesday or Thursday like Black Hawk Down did.

I got a notification from bestbuy.com too, any idea when the $10 digital coupon will come?

from past experience, i would say the Friday after the Tuesday release.

Mine is going toward the Van Wilder pre-order and keeping my $10 Digital Gift Coupon going......

I just noticed they dropped the price by $4. Woohoo :D I can't wait 'till mine arrives!

I got a notice that it is BACKORDERED.

Are they F@#$% kidding? Isn't that the point of a PREORDER (that I placed a month and a half ago)????

I'm sure this means that my digital coupon will be delayed.

Btw, anyone knows if it is a custom case (like Seven) or a double plastic keepcase?

I also received a notice it and another DVD were backordered. How the F... is that possible. Does that mean the store shelves will be empty on Tuesday? It damn well better mean that if they already received orders from customers who PREORDERED.

What's the point of preordering, if it wasn't for the coupon I'd tell them where to put the DVD. The store shelfs will be full, but they can't seem to send mine out. Think I'll just DDD price match it and they can keep their coupon. I emailed them but no response.

And to ensure we know they don't have their act together, has anyone clicked on their tracking. It sends me to a link that the page is incorrect, then when you get to the right page and type in the tracking number, it says tracking service has "not been purchased for this item."

Preorder....means nothing, the store will be stocked but you will have to wait until the warehouse is full.

So . . . anyone have any follow-up on this issue? I ordered my copy of the WS version on the 1st and have heard nothing from Best Buy about shipping or delays or backorders. The only thing I'm concerned about is that it's Tuesday and I don't have my copy of LOTR. If I buy a copy from another retailer, can I return the one from BB that will ship to the store for cash? Will this effect my digital coupon that will hopefully come in my e-mail on Friday? IS there a way to cancel my order before it ships?

Hmm, I ordered 7/18, said it shipped Wed / Thurs, got the same tracking number problem, but still havent received it. Ive gotten no notice of back order. They have also charged my credit card (although by law they can't until it ships, but whatever). For the people that said they got a notice of back order, had they charged your CC yet?

I received mine today. Now I am just waiting on the $10 digital coupon.

Still no Lord of The Rings
 

It's Thursday morning, and I still don't have my Lord of the Rings DVD. I called Best Buy's customer service number yesterday. They told me that the "tracking number" associated with my order is not a tracking number at all. It's a random number assigned by USPS and means nothing. So it's basically impossible to track these shipments at all. She reminded me that standard shipping can take up to 10 business days to arrive. Which means I may have to wait until next Tuesday for my movie. Argh! Why do I put myself through this aggravation? Is it really worth it to save a few bucks?

ditto, although I already owned and sold the Canadian version as well as received my copy from the EB trade-in deal.

Finally got mine and my digital coupon as well. It's really been good day!

Still waiting for mine. :(

I still haven't received mine either (said it shipped on the 31st). Better be here Monday...

I have not received my dvd as well. I got the message on the 31st that the dvd shipped, & have talked to BB twice about it. 1st I was told to wait 10 mailing days, & then this last time I was told to wait 10 working days. So....if I don't have my dvd by Wednesday, then I get to claim the dvd lost & get a replacement. Gotta love BB.......

Mine came today (finally). I'm still not exactly sure why people can't pick up their preorders at the store. All it would do is save them money.
