This is seriously long over due!

Now, I see they have two versions of Smallville listed, but I didn't see what the differnces were. I assume one is full frame and the other is widescreen. How can I be certain I don't order the wrong one?

If you click the technical details.

1 says Warner Bros. (French)
and the other just says Warner Bros.

Not all their database is filled in yet, but it looks promising. Things will probably ship faster and for less to Canadians. Yahoo! I hope the warehouses are actually in Canada, and it all isn't some front for the US operations. Things won't have to go through Customs either. Some of the stock may be limited. Beware of Multilingual packaging from Alliance and Guano-Vista products.

I don't think they have their shelves done yet. There is a 4 to 6 week wait for the dvd's I was looking at.

I'm probably going to order SMALLVILLE from them, as they have (so far) the lowest price listed, and I haven't had bad luck with any other branch of Amazon.

de5perado 06-28-02 03:30 PM

does anyone know for sure if they will have bilingual covers or not? because i beleive all their stock comes from the US.

WillieTheShakes 06-28-02 05:13 PM

de5perado -
I'd be stunned if amazon.ca was sourcing from the US. They don't actually exist as a Canadian company - amazon.com has hired Canada Post for warehousing and fulfillment, thus avoiding the cultural protection issues that bookstores (and remember, amazon is/was a bookstore first) are subject to (Canadian control, etc). No company = no issue.
I doubt they'd mess up this very delicate situation (they're currently under investigation by Heritage Canada) by US-sourcing.
I could be wrong, but I'd get used to the idea of bilingual covers...

i preordered TOKYO OLYMPIAD. they list the DVD Release Date as January 1, 2010. they must be sourcing from Mars or something.

This is their default release date for all items for which they have no certain release date. At least until 2009 comes around!
