Best buy and disney

I went to best buy the other day and bought Atlantis CE, Snow White Platinum edition, Mulan, and Peter Pan SE. I ended up getting Atlantis for free for some reason. I left without realizing this so I was wondering if there was some sort of sale or disney promotion or if it was simply a mistake.

well, congratulations anyways.

its probably a promotion

Yes, of course, it's the little-known "Get a Clueless Cashier to Give you a DVD for Free" Promotion. Glad you were a winner. :D

I think they have a promotion that if you buy three disney dvd's you get the 4th free.

cheenno 04-15-02 09:26 PM

That's what i was thinking, but then don't they usually give you the cheapest one free? Atlantis:CE was the most expensive of the 4.

If it is a promotion, Atlantis CE will be in the receipt, probably grouped with the others as a package, and being priced at $0.00. If it is not in the receipt, you are a winner because you most likely got a dumb cashier who just gave you a special deal ;)

BB puts all promo items (like Buy X Get 1 Free or Buy X Get $Y off) in the receipt so that if you return the some items in the package you don't get the freebie or the special pricing.

Great to hear something good about Best Buy every now and then. Y'know, It could be that Disney was so grateful you bought Snow White they gave you Atlantis for free. Kinda like the Pearl Harbor promotion that's going on.... :D

The subtle difference is that BVHE is trying to get rid of the excess PH stock that fewer people are willing to buy ;)

Haven't you seen how many copies of Snow White are still on the shelf? I think a lot of retailers over bought this one. Very much like PH.

Retailers bought heavy on Snow White due to the limited production run. Smart retailers would only have a copy or two on the shel and the rest in a wherehouse.
