800.com merges w/ CC question
since they are honoring orders ... i wonder if CC will honor warranties from 800.com?
I had purchased a Harmon Kardon receiver from them a while back which is acting up on me .. i was working with 800.com on getting it exchanged when they closed their doors any ideas? do i have a legal right here? |
Did you purchase an extended warranty from 800? If so, 800 doesn't do the warranty, it's another company that will handle it, regardless of whether 800 exists anymore or not.
If you didn't get the extended warranty, did you purchase it under 30 days ago? If not, CC will likely do nothing for you, and chances are even if it was still under 800's return time, CC is not obligated to do anything for you as they did not buy/merge/become 800, they just bought their customers, not necessarily the problems. If it's under manufacturer warranty your best bet is to take it up directly with HK. |
sigh thats what i was worried about .. HK is gonna give me the run around with getting it serviced etc. I'd rather get a brand new one .. 800.com was willing to exchange it for me, they were about to ship me a return label. I doubt that return label will ever get here.
EVEN IF it does arrive, I doubt I will use it to ship a high end receiver to a company that doesnt exist! |
