Another reason I love DVD Empire

Got this email from their Customer Serivce today:

Foole,

Please be advised
There is a misprint on the box of Groundhog Day The Special Edition
that states that there is a DTS encoded soundtrack on the disc. The
details on this were changed at the last minute and that soundtrack is not
included. We are attempting to find out if Columbia will re-issue the disc
at a later date. When we get any response we will copy you on it
thanks
DVD Empire

Sincerely,

Now I already knew about the lack of the DTS track on this disc and purchased it anyway, but it's nice to see an etailer going out of their way to point this out to those customers who might not have known. They are even trying to coordinate with CTHV to see if a reissue is in the making (not that it matters to me, but a nice touch).

DVD Empire rules!!! I will continue to give them the bulk of my business!!

I also think they are one of, if not, the best. My only gripe with them (not their fault) is that I am in the same state as them, so I have to pay sales tax when I buy from them! Grrrrrr.

Another thumbs up for DVD Empire.

I especially like using their USPS media mail shipping option. It's a little cheaper, and since I only live a short distance from their warehouse most shipments arrive in two days.

I received a notice from DVD Empire informing of New Line's failure to secure the deleted scenes on Twin Peaks FWWM.
Very nice service for those who might be unaware of that fact.

Yep, I got the same e-mail from DVDEMPIRE.

I'm also impressed by their on-line order maintance: you can modify items, delete items, combine orders, etc. and their pre-order manager is a very nice feature. It really helps me to maintain my DVD budget. Also, they have great customer service. They maybe a little more expensive, but you can't beat the service!

PS: I don't know if was part of the SOPRANOS-SECOND SEASON box set promotion, but they also sent me a SOPRANOS t-shirt.

here is an e-mail I got from them today-this is what differentiates DVD Empire from Amazon and the other e-tailers that do not honor thier mistakes...............

Dear Customer
We have recently adjusted the price on All In The Family: The
Collectors Edition to reflect the correct price of 39.95 retail. We had
previously listed it at 24.95 retail and this was based on information
provided by the studio that was found to be incorrect.
Please understand that this will only affect orders that were placed
after the date of 1/31/2002. Any orders that were already placed will be
honored at the price of 16.22 as is per our policy.
Also understand that only orders placed before 1/31/2002 will be
honored at that price.
We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter
Sincerely
DVD Empire

I just wish they would refund the shipping costs when I have to return a defective disc. They've failed to do that twice now.

They sent my a similiar email regarding the new Evil Dead disc when Anchor Bay dropped the "Watching in the Woods" short.

I get my DVDs exclusively through DVD Empire. Their "pre-order manager" is da bomb.

I give DVDEmpire a big thumbs up for honoring the All in the Family misprice. I preordered it from them before I knew about the pricing errors and wasn't sure how they would handle the situation. I am definetely going to be switching more of my business over to them instead of Amazon.

I only used DVDEmpire for a few orders that I couldn't get cheaper through Amazon or Deep Discount DVD. Amazon is losing my business because of the endless order problems and their poor customer service in resolving them. DVDEmpire is getting my business because of their quality service and decent prices. They also seem to value their customers more than Amazon does.

I'm also going to give praise to DVD Empire for honoring All in the Family. I had never ordered from them before, but I am amazed by their email they sent today. Exceptional. I'll try to give them more business in the future. Two problems though: I have the Amazon Visa and DVD Empire is in PA, so I pay tax.

I've also been very pleased with DVD Empire. Normally, if the price between them and Amazon is only a dollar or two, I would buy at DVD Empire. Unfortunately, easy availability of Amazon GCs and coupons usually wind up in a substantial price difference, so I wind up buying at Amazon.

But with these evolve $10 mastercards right now you can use them anywhere, so I plan on using all of mine to buy DVD Empire GCs.

Oh, well. I ordered 2 $10 GCs on the 12th, and decided not to cancel even when I found out I would have to wait to get them by snail mail. After two days of emails from DVDEmpire asking for my phone number repeatedly, and after two phone calls confirming the numbers, I got an email this morning saying that they could not use my credit cards. I finally gave up and ordered Amazon GCs. Amazon GCs came in 3 minutes.

So, my failure to patronize DVDEmpire this time was not for lack of trying. Obviously, there is some kind of glitch in their credit card processing software.

Agreed! Makes organizing all my pre-orders a breeze. Simple to cancel items and combine orders. A+ in my book!
