CC not carrying Grinch

I went to Circuit City last weekend to exchange a second Shreck DVD for a Grinch (Jim Carey) DVD. To my wonder, I was told that they sent all their stock back because Grinch is considered a "Christmas item". WTF? Is this just my local CC's idiotic epiphany or are all Circuit City's doing this?

Just wondering...

I work at CC and yes, this was company wide. There was a message sent stating that yes, the new Grinch IS a Christmas movie and was to be sent back. All Christmas items were removed from the floor the day after Christmas. It won't be available again until late October.

They're not the only ones doing this. I work for AAFES(Army and Air Force Exchange Service) www.aafes.com
in the electronics section. Today I had to put away all the Christmas videos ,CD's and DVD to be counted for inventory. I 'm guessing Universal wants to make "The Grinch" a "Christmas " DVD like other holiday movies( White Christmas, etc). If we did it at my job odds it's company wide with all AAFES base wide(nationwide).

Thanks for the heads up on this !

Anybody have reports from other stores besides CC and my job about this?

Does this mean "Halloween" and its sequels were pulled off of the CC shelves until next fall?

Most of the Halloween/Horror movies stay stocked year round since there is a permanent section for those type of movies. I don't know about specific titles. Usually at CC, Christmas product is pulled just after the new year, so it was surprising that they wanted everything sent back the day after Christmas. It was the first year that I've worked there that there was no % off Christmas music/movies after Christmas.
