SCREWED by Netflix.
As I had written about in a previous thread, Netflix recently cancelled my account over what they perceived to be fraudulent activity, and this was after 13 months of my patronage. Resultingly I am now charged the full $43.75 (8-out plan) month fee for the measly 7 DVDs I was sent for half-a-month, and today I received my credit card statement and found a full five inches of $30 charges for DVDs that they want me to return back, totalling close to $500. Twelve of these are for discs I had [B}rented[B} out lately which I did not realize equated to stealing in Netflix's viewpoint, unfortunately eight of those are for discs that I had reported MISSING months ago. For chrissakes I even received rentals that were clearly addressed to other members on three seperate occasions, what is it about the word MISSING that they do not understand? I am simply not liable for some mailman's mishandlings. And this all snowballed after I inquired their customer service as to why it was taking literally two weeks for discs to arrive or return, which is a legitimate concern, don't you think? In addition they are threatening legal action for phony fraud charges with no basis even though [B]I[B] am the poor bastard who is already getting screwed up the $@#, and let me just conclude this sorry tirade by saying that Netflix has brought me a world of trouble so be wary of them. You have no idea how exceptionally irritating it is to me more than ever right now how I receive a friggin' Netflix pop-up ad touting "FREE TRIAL" every 10 minutes I use the web.
Edited to add:
For the record they are charging me $32.80 per disc, not $30. Also, if I understand correctly, some people actually operate under the pretense of having a disc reported missing in order to surreptitously keep them. If that is the case, then why is it that these people can get away with such actions while people like me who actually have their discs lost in the mail are penalized? *sigh* I don't mean to overstate the obvious, but so many things are just plain unfair in this world, and it makes me want to scream.
