How reliable is Amazon with "Special Order" items?
I want to order several Dvd's from Amazon that are all listed as "Special Order" - these include the new batch of Diamond Releases and a couple of imports. Does Amazon have a good track record when it comes to acquiring these items? I've never bought "special order" items from Amazon before, but I have from other online retailers and basically the order just sat there and never shipped. Does Amazon actually make a special effort to get these items in stock or does your order just sit there until the items just happen to become available.
Also, does anyone know a reliable online store to purchase import (region 0) discs. The only store I've found is Scarecrow video, but they don't have everything I'm looking for and they seem a little pricey.
Thanks!
Roy

It really depends on the book/dvd that you're ordering, but (in general) I find that Amazon is just like other retailers -- it takes months to get a Special Order item... if you get it at all.
I've had many special orders that just sat in my Amazon order history for months and months and never arrived.
