My local Wal-Mart broke street date for "One Night at McCool's"!

I was in my local Wal-Mart today(while waiting for the bus to take me home from school,I'm also off from work on Mondays) looking at their medicore DVD selection and stumbled upon "One Night at McCool's" . It was $19.96. Of course since my birthday was last Friday ,my parents gave my $20 Wal-Mart Gift card, I picked it up. Of course I picked up the Tom Selleck movie western movie "Quigley Down Under" for $9.44. No sign of any Godfather DVD's out before street.Heck if they can street this movie early , why not the Godfather DVD collection?

Do the B&M stores no longer care about street dates any more? Can't they get into trouble for doing this?I thought there was a big $$$$ fine involved if the stores/companies broke street dates? Cant' the studios do anything to stop this?

What's the problem? Do you work for one of the studios?

So did Border's B&M and also on the MGM version of Robocop.

Both of which I picked up yesterday.

Yes... the store's can get in trouble but they are more likely to break street date on smaller, older titles like the one's mentioned already in this thread and not break street date on major releases like the Godfather.
