DVD Talk Forum - Amazon screw up

I had pre-ordered an october release DVD along with a book during the free shipping period at Amazon using a $10 promo GC. My order status until today used to show free shipping + the $10 promo. But today they removed the free shipping savings and only the $10 GC remains in the order status.

I ended up cancelling the entire order losing the GC in the process. But I don't care about losing the GC because B&Ms will probably have the DVD at a reasonable price anyway. Even with a GC, Amazon is pretty pricey. I would rather pay a sales tax of less than a dollar than paying the steep shipping charge.

Amazon is fast becoming a shady and disreputable site in my opinoion...
