How can I reach a live person at AT&T?
I signed up for AT&T in March in order to receive 3,000 Continental frequent flier miles, plus 3,000 after 6 months, and 5 miles per dollar spent.
I still haven't received any miles into my frequent flier account. Everytime I try to call them I end up with the menu system from hell, I can never reach a live person, even when I enter random phone numbers as my home number. Any ideas? |
OK, finally got through. I called again, sellected the option that said that I was not an AT&T customer and wanted to sign up with AT&T (of course those people will get a real person).
So, I got through, explained the situation to the person, she was very friendly and transferred me to another person. She also was nice but also had to transfer me to somebody who specialized in milage rewards. The third person was able to see that when I signed up, for some reason, they assigned a new Continental Frequent Flier number to me, that is where the miles have been going. He called Continental and merged the new account into my old account. Next month I will receive another 2,500 miles (it will have been six long months since I signed up with AT&T), which will push me over the 70,000 mile mark, meaning that I can get two free tickets to South America (35,000 miles per ticket). |
1-800-833-8110. AT&T's new NO AUTOMATED line, you speak to real people right away. Great service for once.
Stay away from MCI and Sprint. |
You know I always see these post about staying away from Sprint and MCI but I have to tell you AT&T has among the WORST customer service I have EVER seen. I've even dealt with them on the corperate level with broadband and long distance and they suck at both. Like the person said, talking to a human is almost impossible! I never had a problem with getting through to MCI and so far I'm very happy with Sprint.
AT&T just plain SUCKS! |
