When does DeepdiscountDVD ship preorders?
 

I bought a preorder through them, the disk will be released on 8/21 (Open Your Eyes).

Will they ship it a little early since it will take a few days to get to me (will they try to time it so I receive it on 8/21), or will they wait until 8/21 to mail it (meaning I won't have it for four or five days after that)?

On my confirmation email it just said that it would be shipped by 8/21.

My experience with DeepDiscount and preorders are don't expect them early or on time. I usually received preorders a week or more after the release date. But a few times they did surprise me with DVDs that arrived early or on time. Also because they sent you an email saying your title will ship by 8/21 doesn't necessarily mean it will.

It probably depends. I ordered a title that gets released on 8/14 and it got shipped on 8/7.

It depends on where you live and what DVD('s) you buy.

Some people recieve their preorders up to weeks before, some people get their preorders a week after.

But if you live close, you will always recieve your DVD within half a week of it's release tops.

They usually ship my preorders very early. However, with the Standard Mail shipping they usually either arrive anywhere form the Monday before street date to a few days after.

I'm still waiting for my copy of Chocolat.

The post office is very weird with Standard Mail. DDD shipped Chocolat last Thursday and it's still not here. However they shipped Behind the Planet of the Apes and Kingpin on Monday and they both arrived today (after only 3 days). Very weird how they can pass each other in the mail.
