Has the Wonka fiasco changed your buying habits?

Maybe I'm naive, but I still assume movies coming out are going to be anamorphic widescreen. I've got several on pre-order without knowing their specifics, but I'm going to order through Amazon or another e-tailer that I know I can cancel if I need to. I've never been able to cancel an order from buy.com (even 2 months before it shipped once), so I'm not going to ever pre-order from them.

But if Remains Of The Day or Forrest Gump (or another title) turns out to be open-matte or pan&scan, I may never pre-order again, and get all my DVDs at Best Buy.

Mistakes are made everyday. I didn't order Wanka as I don't really care for it in any way shape or form, but I can see why people would be angry. It's not the first DVD released with different specs than advertised, and it probably won't be the last.

Won't change my buying habits one bit... I always order from retailers where cancelling a preorder is easy (like Amazon).

I painlessly replaced Wonka in my Amazon order with another title 5 minutes after hearing that it would not be widescreen. No problem.

I've had to return two movies to Amazon that ended up being different aspect ratio than what was listed on their page and/or what was actually written on the dvd package itself.

Amazon refunded my money including shipping even though both movies had been opened.

Now if only Amazon could get the movies delivered to me the same week it is released, I'd be happy :)

Nah, **** happens...

No.

What changed my buying habits is lack of coupons and specials for pre-orders.

I have been waiting until after release for the price to drop further.

NO for me also. Businesses will take care of you if the DVD was advertised as WS anamorphic but really isn't. It's worth the chance if you have a good deal on a preorder.
