I had a very unpleasant experience tonight at the Blockbuster Video in Napa, CA. While traveling on business I decided to stop in this store to see what previously viewed DVD's they had. I found a copy of "Bounce", it had a sticker on it that said "Previously Viewed $4.99". There also appeared to be parts of a sticker that was on top of that one that had been peeled off, not unusual for any Blockbuster that I have visited previously. I took the video to check out, where I waited close to 30 minutes in line. When I reached the register, the person helping me, took the DVD, went to the other register and came back. When she returned, she said "this isn't going to be $4.99, someone has peeled a sticker off of it." She rang it up and it rang up at $19.99. I asked her why there would be a sticker on it for $4.99 and then a more expensive sticker over it. She said "I don't know, but I'm going to take care of that right now. Would you like it for $19.99?" Of course I said no. I did not feel like staying and arguing the legality of not selling the disk to me for the price it was marked.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? If so what did you do? What happened?

Hmm...that is where I got a double disk Bounce for $9.99. I think it may have been marked incorrectly though. I would have insisted simply explaining that you must sell for the marked price. You mentioned something about the price sticker and its condition. As long as the 4.99 didnt looked peeled or torn or anything i would have not left until I got it for that price. Something I learned on these very boards...it already got me a dvd at BB that was marked 0.00 for 0.00. Sorry about Blockbuster....they can be a pain in the butt....I recently switched my renting over to another rental store because i was tired of getting shotty service from them and the attitude that came along with it. They seem much nicer.
