WTF?? Are they shipping by mule?

I wrote:

Overstock,

Your website shows the status of this order as shipped on 6/15/01, but it does not have any valid UPS shipping numbers to track. Please advise as to whether these items have actually shipped, and if so, what are the tracking numbers?

Thank you,

Robert

Their response (Their poor grammer, not mine):

Dear Robert,

Thanks for your interest in shopping with us. In regards to your email it takes 3 weeks to ship the cd it on are website. If I can be of additional assistance please let me know.

Well that just sucks. Does that mean they charge your credit card and 3 weeks later your shipment arriaves? And what kind of shipping service takes 3 weeks to deliver? Some poor highschool kid driving across American with hundereds of Blus Bro. disc delivering them door to door.

Latest info:

I called Amex, and sure enough, my card was charged the day I placed the order. I called Overstock customer service (use the operator #0, not the #2 option, or you'll wait forever and then be disconnected). I spoke with a CSR, and was told the following:

Their dist site for CD/DVDs is Nashville, Tenn.
They do not have a link from Tenn to their order entry office for updating UPS tracking numbers. (what?)

I asked them to call Nashville, and was put on hold. (The most annoying Bird calls and Jungle sounds you've ever heard). CSR comes back and says, they used USPS because they have contract with the Post Office for reduced rates, but contract does not allow for tracking numbers. (hocus pocus)

They say my order has actually shipped, but they don't know where it is. I can call back in ONLY 3 weeks and get a refund or replacement if it doesn't show up.

In the meantime I got a $5 off $20 coupon for my troubles.

I'm a little ticked that I may get my bill before I get my DVD's, but I'm still holding out hope.

It was a good deal. That's why I ordered all of them. Sorry about that.

Okay.. I only ordered 4. Going to take them to Suncoast this weekend and trade them.

well, my wife placed an order for Dr. Seuss, Quills and Braveheart (the latter is a gift for my dad and his new player). We just hope they arrive by the first week in July, so we can hand the present to my dad.

37 and change shipped I believe.

Add me on with a Me Too

I got an e-mail on the 13th that said my order (all DVDs) had shipped from Cupit Music. So tonight I was wondering why it hadn't shown up yet and went to My Account on their webpage and found -> Status: Accepted.... not shipped but accepted. I just sent them an e-mail...

Hmmmm... I'd sure like to hear when somebody actually gets their stuff...

I ordered Gladiator, Braveheart and the Green Mile.
And got a shipping confirmation a couple of hours later (see below).

Just tried checking the tracking at UPS, but no luck. Invalid tracking number.

------

We just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that your order,
#xxxxx, has been shipped by one of our sales partners, Cupit Music.

You can review this order by accessing your account at
http://www.overstock.com and clicking on 'My Account.' Since this
order was shipped via UPS, you will be able to view tracking information as
well.

Please Note: For certain items UPS may require that someone be present
at the shipping address during the daytime to sign for the item. If
this is not possible, please call UPS at 1-800-877-1579 once you have
received a yellow "Delivery Notice," and inform them of an alternative
daytime delivery address where the items can be signed for. We apologize
for any inconvenience this may cause, our policy is designed to provide
our customers with greater security.

If you have any questions please send an e-mail to: [email protected]

Thank you,

Check my earlier post...They are not shipping these via UPS even though their order site says so. They are coming via United States Postal Service, and they cannot give you any tracking number.

My order supposedly shipped on the 13th. I sent them an e-mail and they replied that my order was indeed sent out on the 13th via USPS and it could take up to 3 weeks for me to receive the shipment. WTF!!

I got my reply from them this morning and it said basically the same thing (although they didn't confirm that it was actually shipped on the 13th, so I guess you're better off than I am)

My account order status on their webpage still says: "Accepted" and not "Shipped"

I think this will be the only time I order from Overstock.

Well, mine was "shipped" a week ago as well. I emailed them today politely complaining about pawning off book rate mail as UPS and charging $4.95. I'll post if I get a response.

It may already be expired...The CSR I spoke with said that they are only offering $10 off of $60. A far cry from $20 off of $50!!

Although, he may have been giving me that rate since I am no longer a "new" customer.

At this rate, I may no longer be a customer at all

Well, the $20 off $50 popup window still shows up when you load the link at the top of this thread. It's supposed to expire today, the 22nd.

Nevermind... the website says the Blues Brothers DVD is out of stock and won't let me add it into my shopping cart. Guess this deal will expire before it'll be back in stock.

Well, How the Grinch stole Christmas is the cheap MGM/UA version that doesn't have as many extras as the remastered Warner edition (I think they showed the Warner cover, too). Does anyone know if this version is still even in print?

It makes me worry about the Blue Brothers...
