Got confirmation today in a.m. that Vertical Limit has already shipped. In my opinion amazon.com is the best and yes I use the dvdtalk link to order, which makes about 15 titles so far thru the link. So I am not referring somewhere else.

I've had both incredibly fast and incredibly slow shipping with Amazon.

Lately things have been slow. A book I recently purchased took 10 days after I received the 'just shipped' email. And one I purchased last week allegedly shipped (their term) Thurs. but from the UPS tracking has not left their building yet.

I agree with Msharkm. I've had instances in the past where they ship a DVD days before it's street date and I get it two days later. And other times, like right now, today is the day Big Trouble in Little China comes out, and it has yet to ship. When items ship late like this, I tend to get them over a week later.

looks like they messed up and send the pacakage to the wrong hub or something, where do u live in NJ?

Remember...that shipping info is UPS and not AMAZON...They shipped fast butthen UPS dropped the ball... Since 98, I have never had ap roblem with Amazon....

I'm starting to not trust Amazon's shipping notices. I got an email today that said my order shipped was shipped via UPS Ground. Well, when I checked the tracking info, I found out that my order had already been delivered 3 days prior to an address in New Jersey (I live in Maryland)! Needless to say, I was on the phone with customer service immediately and they're sending out my order again.

On the other hand, their website still shows my Stargate Season 1 as "shipping soon" when it arrived about 20 minutes ago.

I have ordered from amazon.com for 3 years now and have never experienced a problem. The longest it has taken on an in stock item is 3 days.

Customer Service has always been very helpful. Try reaching buy.com's Customer Service, that's a HaHaHaHaHaHa!

I used a P.O. Box for delivery so Amazon can't use UPS :)

They usually ship by Priority Mail for multiple DVD orders, which takes about 3 days with tracking info (though not as detailed as UPS). For single DVD orders they use Media Mail which takes about 3-4 days for me and has tracking too. If I were using UPS Ground, it would take 5 days or more!

My 2nd book shipped in 5 days - go figure.

I ordered Chuck Palahniuk's Choke for the 3-5 day shipping dealie thing. They sent me an E-Mail two days ago, got it yesterday. Hmm...

Amazon shipped my order of Sex and the City 2 and Ranma 1/2 DVDs yesterday by UPS ground. I think it will arrive today because a destination scan was done this morning. Of course the order didn't have far to go, it only had to go from DE to CT.

Depends on where you live... We have a distribution center here. I get my titles in one, yes one, day... That's pretty quick folks.

So.... Did you get it yet??? (and what was it?)

I'm still waiting. I called them, sent them emails, but they cannot guarantee the delivery date. If only, I can select the carrier from Amazon, I'll stay awt from UPS.

Being the nosy person that I am, I plugged in your tracking number while looking up some of my own stuff...looks like you should get it today! :)

I'd be a happy camper if my copy of "Requiem for a Dream" arrived today. According to my priority mail tracking number, it's been at a post office less than 30 miles away from my home since May 18th! :(

Since when does Amazon use UPS. I could've sworn all my previous orders have come via USPS Priority Mail.

Amazon uses UPS Ground as well as USPS Priority Mail for standard shipping. I guess it depends on the shipping hub your packages is being shipped from.

@Maryang Palad: According to your tracking summary I would say that UPS screwed up again. Once I had the same thing: I saw my package in Denver jumping on a truck to Alaska, it took 5 days to bring it back from there, then it went from Denver to Omaha, from Omaha to Chicago, back to Omaha and finally to Falls City. I waited 13 days until it was delivered.

Although this is not the normal way things are going, I don't like UPS. If I'm not at home, the postal service guy hides the package somewhere on my driveway and puts a note into my mailbox where exactly it is. UPS tries to deliver the package two more times, then I have to pick it up at the UPS facility 20 miles away.

I live in Staten Island and it says it's heading there now. But it's been heading there since 2:30 this morning. It's now 6:20 PM.
What's up with this?
Is it because of the holiday weekend?
When do you suspect it'll get here?
If it doesn't come in another day, how could I go about asking amazon to charge me for 3-5 day shipping instead since that's how long it took?

Have you tried calling amazon.com about this shipping problem. I would image they would be more than willing to make this right with you. Sounds like it is more a UPS problem than amazon.com.
