I went to Home Depot today and charged over $365 to my H.D. card because they have a 3 month no interest financing on $299 and up purchases. Imagine my surprise when I looked at my reciept and the financing wasn't on there. I went to customer service and they told me (and eventually pointed it out on the flyer) that as a customer I have to ASK for the financing at the time of purchase! I told them that other retailers don't do that, they give you the correct financing w/out cust. intervention. She then pulled the Lowes ad circular with 6 months financing and it states again the customer has to ask for it at time of purchase.
Needless to say, she wanted to return my purchase and re-ring it to get the financing. I told her to return it and ended up buying only $38 of it back cuz I wasn't happy. What a crock! The sites for both companies don't mention the asking for the financing, but if you have their flyer take a look at it.

My city is building a Lowe's at the famous "The Nut Tree" grounds in Vacaville,CA and I think it's going to open either this summer or early fall!Maybe I should try to remember your exeperince when my dad(who likes/loves to make things and fix things around my parent's house) will ask them about this!
