Ya had me then you lost me.

I too dug the 6 game weekend (and how good was it to have Monday night playoff football??), and it was just a quirk that most of the games were blowouts. There is just not that big a disparity between a 12 game winner and a 10 game winner, there could easily be a year when the WCs take out a few of the division winners.

But 17 games is just weird to me. 16 or 18, but not 17. Even number please. 16 is probably better though, with so many injuries.

Likewise. Complaints about the blowouts are premature and a little silly at this point. Once this has been in place for a few years, I doubt very seriously that these games end up being much more one-sided on average than they were before the inclusion of an additional wildcard team. Perhaps slightly if the #2 seed ends up being a genuinely superior team.

It is more than a little ironic that we had so many blowouts (and only one real upset) this past weekend to begin with. The parity and unpredictability of this season has been, to my eyes anyway, almost unprecedented. The Packers are pretty much the only team that has behaved fairly predictably, especially if you throw out their blowout loss to the Saints in week one.

Frankly, so long as the NFL holds onto the division winner gets in automatically structure, this is more fair anyway. Far too many genuinely good teams have not been able to play in the postseason in lieu of the 8-8 (and occasionally 7-9) winner of a lousy division.

I’m watching my recording of Chiefs-Steelers, and Jerick McKinnon is running all over the field. It’s been so long since I thought of him that I was wondering when they acquired JD McKissic.

(Yes, I recorded all the games but am deleting the boring ones after I get a taste of them.)

or all refs might remember his comment during future games. That "roughing the passer" doesn't look so rough after all

Probably, but if he hadn't apologized, the talking heads would be on him like flies on poop. Sports are as much TMZ as they are sports these days.

It was my Ickey Woods jersey. The same one I've worn daily since we won on Saturday.

(It's a 3XL jersey from many many many years ago - I'm swimming in it. Lol)
