San Diego State throttles previously unbeaten Colorado State 79-49 on Saturday.
This Aztec team isn't nearly as good as the one from 2019-2020, but they're better than some people thought.

#1 Baylor looking at the very realistic possibility of a two game losing streak, trailing by 11 to unranked OSU with 10 left.

There are probably 20-25 teams capable of winning MM. Picking the right one to win 6 games in row. Good luck. I have to look at some deep flyers for betting.
I'll be honest - I've barely watched any CBB this season. Doesn't help that my 2 teams suck and the NFL creeping more into January. With the Olympics coming, probably won't watch much in February either.

Not related in any way to this season, but for those interested, I highly recommend the first episode, titled “Hoop Schemes” of Bad Sport, which is a 30-For-30-style docu-series about sports scandals that came out on Netflix in October. The episode is about that 1994 point-shaving scandal at ASU and how it all went down. They have extended interviews with all (but one ) of the major players involved on both sides and while I was somewhat familiar with the.case, just found it fascinating how it happened and got so out of control. Just super interesting and well done.

Kansas rallied back from a 16 point halftime deficit to beat K-State thanks to an Agbaji final-seconds floater to give Coach Self a much-desired win in the wake of his father's death yesterday. It was the biggest halftime deficit overcome in the 123 year history of the program.
KU would probably be a just-above .500 team without Adbaji.

I know it means nothing in the grand scheme of things but I never thought I would see the day Auburn was number one in basketball. I remember tickets being so ridiculously easy to get for free when I was going there, they were begging students to come (nice for me cause I got to see a lot of basketball). Auburn, historically, doesn’t handle being at the top well in sports so we’ll see how long it last. But for now it’s a fun run.

It's meaningless, and if they keep playing well they'll be a 1 seed regardless. That's all that really matters.

#5 Kansas blows every bit of a 12 point lead in the final 6 minutes at the Phog, but survives #13 Texas Tech in Double OT. Whew.

Dick Vitale posted this earlier. He's going to miss the rest of the college basketball season. He needs vocal chord surgery. Link has details. And he's still battling his lymphoma as well. I wish him all the best

Get well Dickie V!
Couple of post-scripts to that KU game last night : Ochai Agbaji has rocketed to the top of the Wooden candidate list. He scored a career high 37 points, that was the most by a KU player in Allen Fieldhouse since 1991 and the most ever allowed by a Mark Adams coached Texas Tech team - - no one had ever topped 30 against them.

Too early for the offseason thread, but big news from Louisville:
The school has called a joint meeting of its athletic board and board of trustees for tomorrow to discuss a personnel matter. Chris Mack’s radio show tonight has been canceled. All signs point to his time in Louisville has come to an end.
I've watched several games in the last few weeks both on television and in person and I wondered if this might happen at season's end. If this happens, it blows me away for it to take place so soon. I honestly thought he was a great hire a few years ago, but things have continued to go downhill.

After Mack & Louisville parted ways, there's been tons of speculation on which direction they will go. Bruce Pearl's name has been on every list that I've seen as a possible candidate. Coincidentally (
), Pearl just signed a huge extension to keep him at Auburn.

I haven't watched much CBB this year (Maryland is going to finish near the bottom of the B1G and Bucknell is one of the worst teams in D-I). Auburn looks really good. Too bad they weren't matched up with Baylor.
The SEC and B12 seem pretty deep and good. At least based on KenPom.

I root for Georgetown. Looks like Ewing may have to re-sign after the year. I don't think they have the guts to fire him. I hope they hire someone who is totally unconnected to John Thompson Jr this time.
