So far this is like game 1: Subs holding a steady lead but Bucks still hanging around.

Remember when the Sixers drafted local Villanova product Mikal Bridges and traded him on draft night for Zhaire Smith? Granted they eventually turned Smith into George Hill, and they also got a draft pick that became part of the Tobias Harris deal. But Bridges would look good on the Sixers right now.

Yeah Bridges has been a key piece for this team. His D is stellar and he can hit 3s

3-and-D guys are pretty much gold these days.

Suns just have too many guys that can score. You can't stop them all. 2 games away. Simply amazing.

Interesting how both benches were so much shorter compared to game 1. I guess at this stage of the season, trust goes way down and you stick with your core.

So, if the Suns win this thing, does Bud get fired? Does his job depend on winning a title? Is his job already safe? Or does keeping his job depend on how badly they lose the series (i.e., is he gone if they get swept but if they push it to 6 or 7 he keeps his job)?

Unfortunately for the Bucks, I think Bud is set for a while, especially after winning the last couple of games in the last round without Giannis. Even if they get swept. That is unless Giannis gets frustrated, of course.

Has a coach been fired after making a Finals? I know a bunch have been fired after winning COTY...

If you do fire him, you're basically getting the leftovers as far as coaching candidates are concerned.

This report says job may be in jeopardy if they lose: https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-finals-...161034711.html

I give Bud a lot of grief but that loss was all on Jrue/Middleton offensively. It's not like he could've pulled them when he's already playing Teague major minutes.

My pick of Suns in six is feeling really conservative right now. However, the Bucks kept hanging around even when Middleton and Holiday were a combined 12-37. I expect the Bucks will fight hard in Milwaukee and may take one of the next two.

Re: The 2021 NBA Finals Thread -- Milwaukee Bucks vs Phoenix Suns

I'm not a Bucks fan but I'm sure all their fans gasped for air every time Giannis went down holding his knee.

They can make themselves feel better by saying they barely lost with their second and third best players missing every shot, but that also undercuts what an amazing performance Giannis had, and they cannot ask him to do that every night. That 3rd quarter was historic.

I get and agree with having three days off with travel, but I have no idea why there are three days off between Games 3 & 4. I will make the series last longer and screws wtih the Olympic team. It might be good for Giannis though.

Personally, I would fire him. And there are still some fantastic coaches available. D'Antoni would be an interesting pick.

We just saw Jrue and Middleton brick up shot after shot and you want D'Antoni to come in and pick up the pace?
Plus they are already a dominant regular season team that wilts in the playoffs (usually).

Seriously though, I think I've come around to Jrue going from severely underrated to defensive specialist but man don't let him be the primary ballhandler/shooter. He is a much, much better fit than Bledsoe and he can hit the occasional shot but I'm not sure his best role is to be a top scorer.

I don't see D'Antoni getting another head coaching gig. The league is moving away from these 70+ year old dudes that can't relate to players.

MLB All Star Game. Sort of the unspoken agreement between leagues not to compete with each other for big events.

He is one of the worst coaches at actually making in game adjustments, but I guess firing him only makes sense if they have an improvement waiting in the wings or if him and Giannis relationship is cold.

I think the Giannis relationship is key; would firing him piss Giannis off so much that they shouldn't do it?

But if the goal is winning a ring, if Bud can't make it happen this year he is never gonna make it happen.

Giannis apparently loved Kidd and they canned him anyway (some blame him for altering Giannis's shot too).

Obviously Giannis has even more power over the organization now, though.

Because they look like ancient nondescript uniforms and nobody would go out and buy one of them.

You actually can buy them and they are selling like hot cakes right now here in town.

The Valley ones have also grown on me quite a bit. I was sort of unsure about them initially.

You waited long enough. Hell, the city has. Last major title was 2001 right?
