Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

I may as well concede now. No matter what I did to try to cobble together a team that I was confident in ... Ja'Marr Chase has 36 freaking points already AND I accidentally left Boston Scott (19.2 currently) on the bench. Meant to do a last minute check on Howard's status and got busy rewiring outlets.

Congrats Chaos! Even if the rest of your team shits the bed, I don't think I am coming back.

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

Congratulations to outcastja for winning his second championship in three years! I just sent his winnings. I'm just waiting on clappj and Abob Teff to PM me and I'll send their cash prizes out and close the books on the 2021 season. I really want to think everyone for playing these past two crazy Pandemic seasons. The game has been uncertain and trying much like life has been. I hope to see everyone back in the summer for the 2022 fantasy season.

Even if I had won last week, I’d have lost this week

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

I know I will not get any of the top RBs like Eli Mitchell and Sony Michael and somebody else will pick him up and win the title.

If your RBs get injured you are screwed since you have zero chance of getting one in waivers.

That's not true. I won this league in 2018 with a squad of waiver wire pickups. fujishig can testify to that.

The trick to playing the waiver wire (IMO) is finding consistency, not just last week’s hot one-off.

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

Carlos Hyde and Alex Collins are the only RBs you can get in this league since Chaos is a Ladder gets the top priority in RB pickups

Maybe there should be a FAAB budget to make it more fair or Chaos will win it again.

This league has the same waiver settings as the free league and you're not complaining about waivers in the free league. We're not changing the waiver system.

I went ahead and paid clappj. I didn't hear from him, so I sent it to the email that I had on file. Thanks again for playing everyone and I hope to see everyone back in the fall.

I also just won a league with Jordan Howard and Ronald Johnson as my starting RBs. If anything, this was the year for waiver wire RB "gold" especially with COVID and all the injuries.

note that Rojo and Jordan Howard weren't gold but I lost three starting Running Backs in the semifinals week and I was still able to field something of a team.

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

Everyone knows that fantasy football involves a high degree of luck and randomness. Itís weak sauce to blame the league and toss out conspiracy theories based on vague feelings.

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

Ok but it seems like only certain owners always get the top free agent RB every week and end up winning the league.

Some people are better at fantasy football than other people. It's not a conspiracy.

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

Sometimes the team you liked on draft night......just sucks.

The Usual Suspects
1. (6) Nick Chubb (Cle - RB)
2. (19) Calvin Ridley (Atl - WR)
3. (30) Allen Robinson II (Chi - WR)
4. (43) Josh Jacobs (LV - RB)
5. (54) Kyle Pitts (Atl - TE)
6. (67) Robby Anderson (Car - WR)
7. (78) Melvin Gordon III (Den - RB)
8. (91) Tyler Higbee (LAR - TE)
9. (102) Matthew Stafford (LAR - QB)
10. (115) Michael Gallup (Dal - WR)
11. (126) Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
12. (139) Chuba Hubbard (Car - RB)
13. (150) Jakobi Meyers (NE - WR)
14. (163) Jason Sanders (Mia - K)
15. (174) Carolina (Car - DEF)

It happens. See you in the fall.

I got Eli Mitchell Week 2 of waiver wire and he ended up missing half the games this season.

Plenty of players to pick up in Week 17, like Rhamondre Stevenson who was a FA pickup and out scored Mitchell this week.

The only other RBs I kept on my roster from waivers was Freeman (Waiver Priority 4) and Foreman (Waiver Priority 7) and they would just ride my bench.

Re: DVDTalk All Star Fantasy Football League 2021

If the same people keep getting the top waiver wire running backs it's because others either aren't paying attention or are using their waiver wire picks on something else. I'm struggling to see the unfairness here.

Thereís also a high degree of luck in who you acquire, who gets a path cleared for them, etc., not to mention who happens to be available and your current needs. On one team I churned through Devonta Freeman, Latavius Murray, TyíSon Williams, Chuba Hubbard, Darrel Williams, AP, and probably others, just to see who stuck, and this was a league where I drafted Chubb and Najee 1-2. I just kept taking shots, and did end up using a few of them here and there.
