He would, but (I think) he'd be able to play in Philadelphia in home games and still travel as a visitor to other arenas, so he can remain stubborn about this garbage and still play. Plus they could really use his shooting. Downside is that he's a headcase, that he might not get along with Embiid, and that there is a strong possibility that both of them are out for long stretches.

I realize the word is that KD nixed any trade talk but if the players got together and gave Kyrie an ultimatum like this, and he still doesn't budge...

At this point I would be willing to see the Nets trade Kyrie for booster shots for the whole team.

This Kyrie stuff is gold.

I don't know what's worse: if he actually believes this or if he thinks this puts him in a better light somehow so he's lying:

I don’t follow the NBA much at all, but I know the Bulls have been crap for quite a while.

are they supposed to be legit good this year?

They added two big players this offseason in addition to their star Zach Lavine. On paper, they are a playoff team.

I think you're selling Lonzo short, but yeah they added DeRozan and Caruso.

But being a playoff team in this day and age means being a top 10 team, and they barely missed it last year (though I assume Toronto will be a lot better). So they'll probably make the playoffs, since more than half the teams in the league do and they play in the East, but I wouldn't say they are even close to being a contender. Stranger things have happened though (I mean two of the top three teams in the East have major strife right now with one of their key players).

In that case Kyrie, get your J&J vaccine, join your teammates and donate half of your $33M salary to local NY food banks and humanitarian charities.

Problem is that Kyrie is referring to himself when complaining that people are losing their jobs because of vaccine mandates.

It was just a Sham blurb and a link to the article, which is still up. Keep in mind that news breakers like Sham and Woj sometimes are just mouthpieces for the agents. The article is still up:
https://theathletic.com/2885561/2021...-sideline-him/

Here's the relevant part, that he's "not antivax" but for reasons wants to be the voice of antivaxxers:
Multiple sources with direct knowledge of Irving’s decision have told The Athletic that Irving is not anti-vaccine and that his stance is that he is upset that people are losing their jobs due to vaccine mandates. It’s a stance that Irving has explained to close teammates. To him, this is about a grander fight than the one on the court and Irving is challenging a perceived control of society and people’s livelihood, according to sources with knowledge of Irving’s mindset. It is a decision that he believes he is capable to make given his current life dynamics. “Kyrie wants to be a voice for the voiceless,” one source said.

He's not anti-vax, and is only protesting the fact people are losing their jobs, but he never got the vaccine before there were mandates. Riiiiiight.

That is one hell of a pivot by Irving. I am not anti-vax, I am trying to give a voice to the voiceless!

True, I wouldn't exactly call anti-vaxxers quiet or voiceless. They're the ones yelling the loudest.

And if that was his position all along, and he's fighting for the idiots out there, shouldn't he have expressed this earlier? Don't you need to say something to promote the cause? Obviously this is all a fake stance from him anyway.

He still hasn't officially said it, these are all "sources close to Kyrie."

It's probably being floated to see if people buy it; when they don't (because they won't), it will melt away because he never actually said it

I feel like it's an agent desperately trying to spin this and they're running out of ideas.

No matter how I feel about Kyrie now, I am legitimately sad for the Nets who overcame significant injuries and came within a centimeter of making and probably winning an NBA Finals. Their window might already be closed.

I don't feel sad for them. I don't dislike them, but they made their bed when they went all in on Kyrie. It's not like his craziness came out of nowhere, they went in with eyes open.

And they are still favorites or co favorites even without him. KD and Harden on the same team is ridonkulous.
