Let's hope so.

This one was all about Brees not being able to throw the ball more than 20 yards any more. He's done unless he hates the Saints because they would never cut him.

Re: 2021 NFL Divisional Round Weekend

It will be a shame if Henne is playing in the AFC championship and the Bills won and people would question the validity of their win.

The Saints squandered another golden opportunity to reach the Super Bowl.

They were probably the best team in the NFC the last 4 years.

Maybe they will be back because the NFC is weak but I can't see Tayson or Winston winning a championship and the Brees era might be something that can never be replicated.

So I was thinking, with the pandemic still ongoing smaller cities like Kansas City, who will be hosting the AFC Championship next weekend, might miss out on significant tourism. But then I remembered... KC "receives" guests pretty well...

Oh come on, you have to appreciate what Brady is doing now. This guy has done this for 2 decades and proved he could do it without Belichik (many would argue he was a product of the system). This is like Jordan, Tiger, or Gretzky where he is one of the greatest and you are getting an opportunity to witness it. Trust me, I have hated Brady for years, but at some point you come to respect his accomplishments.

14 Conference Championship games in 21 seasons. That's beyond impressive, it's unbelievable.

Yep, that's why he's the GOAT.
A teams success rides so much on their QB, and to do what he's done all these years and is still doing at the age of 43 and on a different team is insane.

Even more these days as they have literally changed the rules so the QB is the main focal point and RB is secondary on most teams . Just look at KC and how much differently the AFC Championship game will be if Mahomes doesn't play because of the concussion. 20-30 years ago, you could win a Superbowl with an average QB and a great defense (Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson, Jim McMahon, Mark Rypien). There are still exceptions but Brady, Manning Brothers, Big Ben, Rodgers and Brees have 14 Rings in the past 18 years.

Another difference in eras is you HAD to have a running game back in the day. Elway lost 3 Superbowls in the 80's because he was the focus of the whole offense. Once they drafted Terrell Davis and had a balance running attack, he won 2 SB's. Marino never won a SB cause Dolphins never had a running game to balance the offense. Montana had Roger Craig, Young had Rickey Watters, Aikman had Emmitt, etc.

The Broncos who won 5 years ago was literally despite Peyton Manning who could barely throw by the end and was playing at a level below the average league QB.Their defense won them SB 50

As I said in my post about this era:

My point was that if you look at the mid 80's early 90's, you had Jim McMahon, Phil Simms, Doug Williams, Jeff Hostetler and Mark Rypien all win Superbowls. Phil Simms is the best out of that group but he wasn't in the Marino/Montana/Elway category. Now a team that wins without a Franchise QB is the exception not the rule.

I don’t have a problem with Brady winning it all this year. I’m pulling for the Bills. But if anyone thinks Mahomes will miss the AFC Championship game, you don’t know football. The NFL would never keep its golden boy away.

I'd say it's always been like that. But some perspective - all of those guys, outside of Hostetler, were very good QBs. Rypien was the MVP of the league in '91 and the Skins were juggernaut that year in all facets. McMahon, Simms, and Williams were legit starter QBs (and the '85 Bears/'86 Giants - Defensive juggernauts). Then go to TB in 2002 - Brad Johnson - a very good QB. Not some chump.

Hostetler was competent but that Giants team was built on D and running even with Simms.

I'd say the only real 2 outliers were the '00 Ravens with Dilfer (thanks to perhaps the best D ever and facing an incompetent NFC rep that year) and that '15 Broncos team. Some might say '12 Baltimore, but Flacco was on fire and had playoff success prior to that season.

Besides, think of all the money State Farm, Adidas, Oakley, AWS, P&G (Head & Shoulders) and Bose are pumping into pushing his image out to consumers right now.

Re: 2021 NFL Divisional Round Weekend

On that front, this is impressive no matter how you look at it :

Tweet was Deleted! Said that Mahomes was the first QB since at least 1950 to go 24-1 over a 25 game span. Maybe that wasn't correct -- Yup they miscounted, he has gone 23-1 as a starter in his last 24 -- won his last 6 regular season games of 2019, won three playoff games last year, went 14-1 this season then won one playoff games (he didn't play in the 16th game, a meaningless loss).

Re: 2021 NFL Divisional Round Weekend

Brady has been in the last 9 out of 10 conference title games which is too much but you can blame the competition for being so inept at not building a team to beat the Patriots.

Don't forget he is a cheater.

Coach Reid said Mahomes passed all his concussion protocol tests so they'll just keep an eye on him this week but looks like he'll play Sunday.

That's an old photoshop. In fact, the resturant you see in the reflection, Cascone's, closed last year.

.
I really don't understand this. Should you blame the NBA competition in the 90's because they couldn't beat Jordan in the finals (he was 6-0)? Or was Jordan just that great and better than the competition? Should you blame the Phil Mickelson, David Duvall, Ernie Els, and Vijah Singh as they couldn't stop Tiger in his prime when he won 14 majors in 11 years? Sometimes you have to tip your cap to someone's greatness.

90% of the NFL are on PED's, so let's not go down the road of cheating. Barry Bonds, Lance Armstrong and Roger Clemens are pariah's by the media in their sport, yet those same reporters looked the other way (along with other sports) as the NFL players got bigger and stronger in the past 25 years. Just Baseball and Cycling had a PED Problem?

Brady is nothing more than a selfish asshole to still be playing at this point and has nothing left to prove. I give the edge to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to go to the Super Bowl.

Why is he selfish? He likes playing, and he's still a very good QB. Why should he retire if he feels that he can still play? If he can't play, they can just not sign him.

And fuck you for making me defend Brady.

I'd call him selfish for not retiring and letting the next generation of QBs have their time in the spotlight. He's only playing now to set various passing records so high that no player can ever touch them.

Re: 2021 NFL Divisional Round Weekend

Best player in the league after years of dominating one conference finally moves to the other conference, dominates, wins a championship. I've seen this script before.
