He's Rick Steiner's son (maybe you're joking and it went over my head though... )

Yup, was a callback to when WCW was promoting Bride of Chucky back in the late 90s and he appeared during an interview with Rick. I admit, I was hoping they'd do something with his son when I saw Chucky appearing on the Halloween show and, voila.

With Sinclair owning the company, I donít understand why ROH doesnít get a timeslot on Fox Sports, which is also owned by Sinclair

Sad to see what is likely the end of the line for them. I haven't watched ROH in years, but I was obsessed with them around '05-'06. Before I went to Grand Slam this year, those ROH shows I went to back then were my favorite live shows I've ever seen.

It's crazy to think of all the guys from that era that ended up becoming the lifeblood of the American wrestling scene for the next decade+. Punk had just left when I started watching, but otherwise guys like Danielson, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, AJ, Caesaro, Owens, Sami Zayn, Roderick Strong, Austin Aries, were all there. Even less accomplished guys like Sydal, Cabana and Jack Evans are still on national TV every week. Good times.

Hell in 2021 WM even had 2 matches that could easily have been ROH feuds in the late 2000's (Kevin Owens vs Sami) (Cesaro vs Seth Rollins)

It could be the end of the line but supposedly theyre gonna reboot in 2022. I used to buy the DVDs back in the day because it was the only way to see it. I was so excited when they went on HDNet just to have an alternative to WWE. I hope its not the end.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Still not sure where Cody thinks this storyline is going, but it's not working. At all. You could tell last night that the crowd had no idea what to do with it. He starts out getting booed, but then the crowd kind of senses his promo is going in a different direction and seems to want to cheer him, but then he fritters it away again only to have Andrade come out and confuse things even more. I have no idea what they think is supposed to happen, but what is happening is everyone in this feud is getting dragged down by Cody. And I say that as someone who generally likes Cody and thinks he's more talented than he's oftentimes given credit.

I wonder if they do some kind of pseudo-invasion angle.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is looking at hiring shorter referees as a way to make their current talent look taller.

Doubtful. I read they cannot sign with WWE, Impact, or AEW until their contracts are up, either in Dec of this year or the middle of next year and still have to be ready for the shows coming up. Impact can use a lot of them, AEW/WWE, not so much.

The rumor going around is that anti-vaxxer AJ Styles is out of action due to Covid.

Jon Moxley is entering an in-patient alcohol treatment program. He has the full support of Tony Khan and AEW

I notice that AEW tends to front load its programming with big name matches. I understand they need to open with strong ratings, but it seems to me they should save something for the end as well.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Man I feel bad for FTR. They just canít catch a break. That was the worst wrestling match Iíve ever seen. The Cirque De Soleil boys made them look like absolute amateurs. Did you notice that at one point those Lucha goofs tagged each other standing in the middle of the ring? The best tag team in wrestling with no one to face. Please Tony Khan, break the bank and sign the Briscoes. Kyle O Reillyís contract is coming up and Bobby Fish is already signed, bring back Red Dragon. What a shame the bullshit these guys have to put up with.
