What good is a finisher if you have a 50 something part time wrestler kicking out of it?

I noticed on the Yokozuna doc and the video package before the Rumble tonight that the WWF logo is being blurred again. Is there another issue between the World Wildlife Fund and WWE again?

JFC, is that Goldberg/McEntyre match what WWE has become?

Ok I'm not really sure what's going on with this musical interlude but Booker T looks freakin jacked. Keep him off of commentary and give him the Goldberg spot.

I've lost the feed three different times tonight.

The WWE Network to Peacock TV can't get here soon enough.

Carlito looks great. Hopefully this is more than a one night return.

What the hell is the booking with Elias? Heís over yet WWE insists on making him look weak, like in tonightís Rumble

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Not that I watch WWE much at all anymore, but Iím surprised they gave Edge the win in the Royal Rumble. He doesnít need the win to be in a high profile WrestleMania match. Also I didnít realize until now that he was the first entrant. They really wanted him to look strong apparently.

Curious if theyíre going to put a championship on him one last time and then heíll retire for good. It feels like thatís what he wants is one last run on top, and then to go out on his terms when heís ready.

I like Edge, but eh at this point with him.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Stark contrasts btwn the mens and women's booking

Womens match they strap a rocket to Bianca and Rhea, and in the mens rumble about half the male entrants were all full time roster members during the ruthless aggression era and the one " up and comer" who is booked good is a 38 year old NXT wrestler.

I love Edge, one of my all time favorites but that was a very underwhelming running of the table. I don't know if anyone else "deserved" it is the problem.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Like every match Goldberg has ever had, his match with Drew was a complete waste of time.

I fast forwarded Carmella and Sasha Banks.

I started watching the Kevin Owens/ Roman Reigns match until KO was run over by a golf cart. At that point I started hitting the 10 second skip button quite a bit. I did manage to stop long enough to see the referee stop counting when Paul Heyman couldn't unlock Reigns and he should have lost the match. What a hot pile of garbage WWE is.

The booking of the mens Rumble match was so boring and predictable. As soon as they did the Randy Orton injury spot you knew that either Edge or Orton were going to win it and that they would be the last 2 people in the Rumble. Also, they do this big build up for Daniel Bryan wanting to win the Rumble before he retires which obviously sets off alarms that he probably won't win. But as if that wasn't enough, he was in the Rumble for 30 minutes and he didn't have ANY spots. Not until the end sequence when you knew it was his time to be eliminated. Despite the fact that the women's Rumble only had 10-12 credible wrestlers in it, I thought it was booked much better, at least the ending was. Because I had no idea who was going to win when it came down to the final 3.

Rumble is the only WWE PPV I get halfway excited about. Besides Christian's return, and the end of the womens Rumble, it was a bland, uneventful PPV.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I really liked the Royal Rumble from top to bottom, even though I agree with many of the points you guys have posted.

The Goldberg/Drew match shouldn't have happened at all. Drew should have been wrestling someone else like Bobby Lashley

Sasha vs Carmella was ok but the big problem is that though Carmella has improved, what she's doing right now is no different that when she had James Ellsworth on her corner.

The Women's Rumble was booked great with the exception of Bailey getting eliminated earlier. To me, she was the top woman wrestler in 2020 and should have lasted till the end, maybe even win the match. We never got the Sasha vs Bailey match at WM that should have happened by now.

The KO vs Reigns was good. Reigns has stepped up his game as a heel and right now, he feels like the star of the company. The cart thing was done in AEW so recently, that it felt like a cheap knockoff when Roman ran over Owens with it. Other than that, it was a good match.

The Men's Rumble was good but the big problem is that most of them have been booked so bad for the past year, that almost no one came in as a credible contender. I mean, Daniel Bryan was hinting that this was his year, yet he's been losing matches for the past year and a half. Bryan has been booked so poorly that he didn't seem as a credible contender and when there are no fans in the arena, wins and losses count more than ever.

Same thing with Shaemus, Cesaro, Braun and Nakamura. On the other hand Rollins mesiah gimmick has run its course, yet they had him return with that stupid gimmick instead of having him come in as just Seth Rollins looking for the championship against Roman. Then, there's Edge and Orton, who are living of their incredible legacy so they seemed like the only 2 choices that could actually win the Rumble. I guess if Keith Lee was in the Rumble, some people may have considered him a contender, but it seems that Vince is once again cold on him overall.

As for Bobby Lashley, I don't get what Vince is doing with him. I mean, he has the look, the size, the wrestling skills, yet he still stuck in midcard. Lashley should be a challenger for the main title and should have fought Lesnar one on one by now, but instead Vince keeps him in that midcard limbo. Right now, Lashley has the perfect mouthpiece with MVP, let him have a run at the title.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

What happened to NXT being promoted as the third brand in WWE? Why not give some NXT guys and gals a spot in the Royal Rumble instead of giving it to old timers and part timers? It seems WWE cannot create new stars because they are so stuck in the past.

Yeah, I don't know who Edge challenges but while I want him to have a final title reign, I don't like him with a win over either Drew (unless he turns heel) or Reigns.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

Any word on who is going into the WWE HoF this year?

I would choose:
Ivan Koloff
Midnight Express(w/Jim Cornette)
Nasty Boys
One Man Gang
Big Van Vader
King Kong Bundy
Baby Doll
Kamala

My understanding is that they are doing the ceremony for the people that were supposed to be inducted last year.

Koko B Ware is in the WWE HoF and he was a mid-carder at best.

Baby Doll has done a lot for professional wrestling besides being in front of camera but behind the scenes.

Koko doesn't belong there. I'm well aware of Baby Doll, but I cant recall anything she ever did. There's other women Id put in ahead of her. But its your list so its all good 👍
